Re: Guild of Aviation Artists Show begins
The exhibition used to be worth a visit. The online version just isn't the same. A painting is not always a picture perfect image but in my view it is more of a representation that doesn't just show an aircraft, but also a scene and a mood or feeling. I think they are better when appreciated in real...

Re: Protesters at Schiphol
AFAIK the protests only influenced operations around the GAT platform and perhaps one or two movements on RW22-04, which is normally only used for GAT movements. All other operations on the airport continued as normal. They had the five main runways available and the entire main platform/terminal ar...

Re: Info Request - MiG-15 Duxford
Just curious, but I photographed a MiG-15 or equivalent in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 1991 or 1992 at some kind of aviation fair. I was just thinking if this could have been the airframe that was seen at Duxford. I don't know any details about this particular MiG. https://www.VC10.net/div/Neg0002...

Very sad, I really hope they can work out a way to save the airframes.

Re: (The late) Paul Allen’s FHCAM Warbirds Sold
Red Bull is a large company and is heavily invested in the risky sports, fast moving metal scene so I suspect that they will not be giving up these flying billboards. That's just speculation though. I do think that it is a different situation, Paul Allen was a collector where the ownership was purel...

Re: Cornwall aviation heritage centre
Throwing out a company that pays rent is a strange way to maximise the income from a site. The article doesn't really explain that point beyond the fact that it was a five year lease and they had the option not to extend it again.

Re: Wellesbourne Vulcan incident
The whole thing seems very confusing, if the ASI had stopped increasing in speed surely the immediate reaction of P2 would have been to call stop, surely anyone on board would be able to tell the throttles are still open, we're still accelerating but the air speed isn't increasing, there must be a ...

Practice session for a future event at Doncaster???
Anyway, I guess that everyone is safe and sound apart from a needed change of underpants and the Vulcan can be moved back onto terra firma soon.

According to https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/31691 it’s BFU CX0012/77 you’re looking for. You could e-mail Harro Ranter who runs that site and ask if he has a copy or whether the contributor who added this information has one.

A bit more about this in another news item here: https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/council-explains-cornwall-aviation-heritage-7534654 The council explains that they have already extended the lease and that it was clear from the start in 2015 that it was a lease that would expire in 20...

Re: Cornwall aviation heritage centre
I read that the council has canceled their lease at Newquay. See here: https://twitter.com/TALUpdates/status/1564974887843909632 If true, that would be a sad development. I'm sure the financial situation isn't great, but that is the case for a lot of the tourist/hospitality/other industry. I should ...
