Re: Sad News: UKAR Member Mister Tee

Deeply saddened to hear this news, although I didn't know him personally I can remember him from his time at Lossie. Very apt that today I witnessed all 3 of the North of Scotland's rescue helicopters in action following a major incident in the West of Scotland. The debt that we owe people like Tony...

Re: Arab Air power.. Trumpeter 1/48 SU-24 WIP updated 12/08/

I'm here looking and waiting, but I can hardly comment if there is nothing to comment on, the whole modelling section seems to have grind to a halt :dunno:

I've commented on both your Mig21(even give you the paint codes for it) and Mig15 projects and one of the Fury ones along with Jame's Mig and this one.

Re: VC10 retirement 28/08/2012?

Maybe it's the only time that they will have 3 a/c available to preform such a task, and with one confirmed as attending Leuchars in September it seems that a slight misinterpretation has been made, unless of course something has turned up out of the Blue requiring the urgent withdrawal of the type.

Confusing

I've noticed over the last few weeks that the section is becoming increasingly harder to follow, with the biggest problem being that members builds and WIP's are getting suffocated in amongst general modelling posts. I know that this is a general aviation site and modelling is only a small part of i...

Re: Eagles on Tain range

I think you'll find that that is classed as a direct hit considering they are using Mk82 500lb "dumb" bombs.

Great set and something different , were these taken on Monday or Tuesday?

Re: Bad seller - Savestation

Is the kit all there and in build-able condition? If so I doubt you have any grounds for a refund even if only a partial one. The kit box may be damaged and bashed but that may be down to an incident during the shipment after all it's just travelled half way round the World and may not have anything...

Re: 78 Sqn Merlin in 95th Anniversary Mks: 1/1 Scale

I am afraid the answer to that Ben is long and complicated but in short, it was only ever authorised for a one off event ie the 78 Sqn 95th Anniversary party. The markings are decals rather than paint so they come off quite easily. Not likely as this an old post from November last year. Not sure wh...

Re: pre-shading

I would give the tip another look, I soak mine overnight after I finish every build but I've noticed on some occasions that the paint that adheres on the inside surface of the tip fails to loosen and a gentle scrape with the needle is required to prise it out.

No no nooooooo!!!

The wallet will have to come out again for this m However it would seem that Hasegawa's research department were on block leave when the done the research into this kit, with a completely wrong and misguided painting guide. Only 2 Greys instead of 3 and a completely wrong camo pattern. They done the...

Re: pre-shading

Only three things can be causing that, either 1/ The needle chuck isn't gripping the needle and the chuck is just sliding over the needle, you do have two knurled knobs at the back of the AB? 2/ The wrong needle is installed, the needle for the 200NH (0.76mm) is different to the needle for the 200 (...
