Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
The NASA DC-8 would be an amazing coup. I still feel 'robbed' by its non-appearance at Edwards AFB airshow last year. I'm sure it was down to appear, if not fly.

Re: Air Show Radom 2023 (Friday, Saturday)
Nice collection Wisnia, thanks for sharing these with us. It's nice to see some artistic work from photographers, rather than the 'standard' frame filling crops we get so often. Whether that is processing techniques, or image composition. All too often we get 'frame fillers' cropped so tightly aroun...

MCAS Yuma Air Show 2024 - 9th March 2024 - Updated 12-02-24
MCAS Yuma (Arizona) is opening its doors to the public again on Saturday March 9th 2024. This sadly clashes with the air show about an hour down the road in El Centro. So, my friend and I will need to make a choice about which show to go to as part of our aviation road trip. Link added... https://ww...

Luke Days 2024 - Luke AFB Air Show 23rd and 24th March 2024 - Updated 05-03-24
Luke AFB in Glendale (Phoenix), Arizona has an airshow planned for the weekend of 23rd and 24th March 2024. I am hoping to attend this show (Saturday only) before catching a plane home at the end of an aviation road trip. Luke AFB is home to USAF F-35A, with a number of international air-forces unde...

NAF El Centro Air Show 2024 - 9th March 2024 - Updated Info 01-03-24
Naval Air Facility El Centro will open its doors to the public, on Saturday 9th March 2024. Located in Imperial Valley, Southern California, El Centro is a good venue for an air show with the sun in the right place for virtually the entire day for photographers. I am hoping to attend this one as par...

Really enjoyed the Santa Maria show in 2022. Not there this year, but that is a nice tidy line up indeed. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Re: Evening at Mildenhall 07/09/2023
The last hour before sunset from John's Field yesterday evening was fantastic. The 16s were returning whist there were two patches of iridescent (rainbow) clouds and a couple flew across them in approach. Really looking forward to processing those and the bonus Herc arriving against an orange sky. W...

Re: Radom Air Show 2023 (26-27 August)
It was a great event at Radom, the Finnish, Belgian and Polish F-18/F-16 demos were great. Very underwhelming was the RAF Typhoon demo . The Polish showed all they got with almost every type of aircraft and helicopter involved. Only minus for the event (Saturday), after 15.00 almost no drinks for s...

Led by Dannebrog and nice curving topside pass like the German Air to Air refuel demo at RIAT 2023. I am down for that.jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023, 3:32 pmA flypast of all F16s attending (that are flying) would be fantastic

Re: FRIAT 2024
I might have been one of 'those' people CVIX. I returned to the stand after purchasing a drink, and noticed another display about to lift, so I sat down on the front row. As luck would have it, the person who had actually booked that 'actual seat' turned up about 3 minutes into the display and I the...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
Riat more than two weeks ago now but I just wanted to say how great it was. I thought the solo fast jet displays were particularly excellent, uniformly brilliant. The pick of an outstanding bunch had to be the Rafale. The Finnish F-18 as ever was extraordinary and I thought the Italian Typhoon gave...

Re: Dayton Air Show
A great follow-up set Sean, really enjoyed looking through these too. The VAW-121 E-2 tail is a nice addition. Very nice to see the Canadian Aurora too. Pick of the shots for me is the fantastically melodramatic Mig with pyros. All in all, this looked like a great show and your two sets of pictures ...

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
1998 saw the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift and RIAT put on a bit of a set-piece about that. So no reason why next year's D-Day anniversary couldn't be a theme. How many of the Daks planning to come over again next summer (like 2019) will still be around come RIAT weekend is anyone's guess. ...

Re: FRIAT Commentary
Lol. As a safety critical worker, my sense of hearing is important to me so I wear ear protection anyway. Having the commentary or not matters little to me. If there's an emergency, I'll just follow the stampede (it's aviation fans, that's exactly what it will be) with my despairing arms in the air....

Re: Dayton Air Show
What a lovely set, interesting stuff. Loved the low down F-35 static shot. And nice to see the 'JZs' too. I am so pleased that the VFA-122 CAG is still the favoured mount for the demo team - she was in the strip down bay at Lemoore back in March and I wondered if it was something 'terminal' for that...

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
Around the grounds - Early Bird parking for P&V East. 2022 and 2023 have been a real bun-fight and no need for it. Simple food for P&V East arrivals. Headsets for those that want FRIAT commentary in the grandstand. Flying - A nice finale set-piece - built around the F-16s maybe? Blue Impulse...

A great set there - a variety of photography styles capturing the atmosphere and narrative of the event. Including members of the crowd in your work adds a lot of context. Enjoyed this set.

Re: FRIAT Commentary
Perhaps RIAT could investigate the radio earpieces that they use at the cricket so that those in the ground can hear the Sky commentators. I would suggest they would only be deployed in FRIAT, then each individual can chose whether to listen to Ben et al, or not . Obviously any over-riding safety a...

Re: FRIAT 2024
Yep, a full grandstand is no fun. I'm seriously thinking about taking a chair next year. If you've got people even one or two seats next to you, inevitably they are going to obstruct the view etc, especially us long lens types. The person sat next to you leans out to see around the person next to th...

Re: Security
What are the checks like for the main show days? For arrivals, all it's been is poke round the camera bag, examine my sandwiches and bid me good day. No wand... no pat down... no bags through scanners. Maybe this is just how it is for arrivals and main show days will be different. Not complaining at...
