Re: 2 seat Buchon G-AWHC up for sale
Riding in one strays too far into the dark side for me personally, a bit like dressing in a Nazi uniform. But that's me very personally. I'd say turning up to have a ride in it whilst dressed as a Nazi would definitely be waaay into the dark side. It would be quite funny to see the pilots reaction ...

Re: Biggest regret in aviation enthusiasm?
No point looking backwards, there's so much to look forward to, grab those Tonka photos, go to the airshows, go see the twin stick Typhoons at Coningsby. In ten years everything will have changed again, the photos of today are history tomorrow.

Re: RAF to scrap 16 twin-seat Typhoons
So when did typhoon production end?, must have been quite a while ago if we have to strip down airframes to keep others going!. It hasnt finished yet, still on going. As for stripping airframes a certain few were bought purely as a source of parts ZJ940 being a prime example. 940 was delivered to C...

Re: Great Warbird Air Display 1991
I missed the parachute drop as I only attended the shows from 1989 to 1994. 1994 was the last show, probably caused by atrocious weather that year which meant that the organisers lost money. And was it the last three, or four, that were at Wroughton? That Sunderland shot is ace. I didn't get to see...

.......from posts on the Flypast forum All 80! pages of it, they seem to be going pretty ape about the whole situation, while I think possibly forgetting that it is safe where it is now, away from looters or scrap merchants or indeed the so called black market, but on that forum saying the slightes...

Its not ruined at all, paint can be stripped and applied time and time again. Chopping it up into tiny little pieces, melting it down into ingots and then making razor blades will ruin it, somebody is just offended its not in its original colour scheme. Hey ho, tough luck

Annnd....leave one in non-descript dark primer for a Season, representing a lack of money/interest in painting it! Or maybe that the season's bookings and availability of other aircraft (such as the MkIX being in for major and the lack of at least one XIX) in the flight made it sensible to put it i...

Re: Airseekers leaving Waddington?
I think there is more to this story than we are currently being told. Most definately, but while the runway/wing/engine argument goes on and on, the real reason will be lost in the background, simple easy effective slight of hand. It could be as simple as Waddington is far too open and public, we a...

Re: Airseekers leaving Waddington?
Seems to me we have paid hmmmm 600 million? plus for 3 aircraft that the Americans dont really seem very keen on us having, sure we own them but they seem to spend more time working with the septics than anything else. Joint opps etc etc. Our own AWACS have been used out of Waddington from the get g...
