Now that made me chuckle...lol
I've heard and seen many imaginative fund-raising ideas before, but "Only Fans" takes things to a new level of dark humour......lol

Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project
Another cracking update Graham - and loving the latest recruit to the team (Snoopy)! I'm waiting to see a recreation of a classic pose with him sat inside the cockpit properly- scarf blowing rearwards in the wind etc... ;) Good work by Monty on the compass mounts too! Let's hope that Snoopy doesn't ...

And yet another riveting episode Graham!
I do wish you would stop flapping about though
At a stretch I could give you the link to answer all your woes
OK, OK, that's enough pulling your chain... No STOP
I'll be fetching my coat

Another excellent update Graham.... despite the agony of the lack of bacon! The Jaffa's might be nice - but no substitute for a hearty sarnie
And you somehow manage to add to your 'fleet' list with the JP work - quite a wide range from Halifax to that

That's a brilliant update Rich, especially the funding part! Congratulations on securing that in the face of adversity! Now about that little gem on the planned paint scheme - well that's a bit exciting! As I am of an age to remember them in service in that scheme up until retirement - it's one I ap...

Re: Shackleton WR963 - [Official Topic]
It's great too see this thread catching up on the year's undertakings Rich - as with other threads such as Graham's - being lost in the forum crash meant you can happily sneak in some new updates covering the missing months and it all looks good again :) That oil supply.... well I can remember how p...

Thanks Richard - I've just spent the last hour or so watching that documentary for the first time and almost shed a tear..... it's a wonderfully made record of that last flight.

Well done to you and all your willing helpers Graham :) The progress has been remarkable throughout 2021 (well really just the last few weeks if you believe the forum thread...lol). It's beginning to lot like - A Meteor!!!! The sight of that 'special' plate brings back so many memories of AEC Bowser...

Excellent news Graham, and much appreciated putting together that catch-up post too!
Now, did I hear you say you'll be offering rides in 788 once she's up and running...lol?
Gotta be worth a packet or three of Jaffa's - count me in

Graham, you have my sympathies on the total loss of the thread on here.... you did come to mind when I first logged back on to find 2021 had all but vanished :( One saving grace for what I hope are many forum members who also use facebook, is the ongoing progress on your page of course, so by not pu...

Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project
Graham, your updates throughout 2020 have been very much appreciated, as well as the effort put in to continue work as and when able during this difficult year. The humour still shone through with the escapades of a certain mascot (incidentally where is it spending Christmas then if the Museum has s...

Re: Gloucester Cathedral
Wow, that's quite some model! Not having seen one before, I had to google it and saw that card kits are available - is this an example of one? The details are amazing and must have required some concentration to figure out. As for the rest of winter - oh heck, why not just expand to the rest of the ...

Re: Westland Wessex HU.5 XS484 History
As I have an interest in Wessex - I had a look around and found this link which shows a colour shot taken in 1964 (the year of delivery) in these colours: https://picclick.co.uk/Original-colour-slide-Wessex-HU5-XS484-203102476073.html And also noted it appeared at Farnborough that September too! htt...

Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project
Well there was me thinking you might have deserved a months rest from activities around 788, but it seems not if you intend to build that panel. At least access is about 100% easier than on the aircraft this time - so in theory it should be therapeutic to complete this? Well one can live in hope ;) ...

Re: Academy 1/48 Hunter F.6
That's a very tidy and well finished model indeed Derek! Small point though, as I'm a Brawdy veteran with a huge Hunter database... XK149 as you've modelled her would be from the 229 OCU era at Chivenor when she was a straight F6 with no modified tail brake chute etc. Once she arrived at Brawdy, con...

From this interesting album over on Flickr, you can see that the Meteor (WL332 by the way), had been moved back in August, although it's current whereabouts are unknown judging by the rapid destruction taking place on the site judging by some of the photos... https://www.flickr.com/photos/152150614@...

I have no idea what it was for (being a "rigger") but the port lower intake on "Winston" had an evil bacon slicer at a 45 degree angle which wasn't so obvious when crawling underneath - and hurt just as much as the IFF

She's coming along rather nicely Graham - you deserve a pat on the back for the progress being made! I can vouch for the smugness at seeing the cockpit light up for the first time in years as it has done - did the same of Hunter XF382 many years ago. Little steps that lead to a much bigger and bolde...
