Those that decide, have stated it's not big enough, and it is not, as Schipol, which takes a lot of the transfers that Heathrow sees as potentially theirs, has six runways. How many of those are operational at any one time though? Apparently, two full length, and two optional shorter runways - an o...

Re: New Runway!!

When Heathrow (or London Airport) was opened in 1946 the land to the north was kept fallow, it always has been, it was inevitable that this would be the location. In the interim, homes, hotels, warehouses, corporate headquarters, prisons and other businesses have been established in that zone, they ...

Russian Navy Passing

It was on the news numerous times today about the Russian Navy passing the United Kingdom along the English Channel. There were "comments" from the British that they were watching them closely. Why or why can there not be a liaison between such Countries during such a passing - we have mis...

Some great pictures of an amazing show with the highlight for me the arrival of Anatoly Kvotchur in a Su27 Flanker in which, prior to landing, having flown from Russia, he then carried out a full display. To say nothing of the "missed approach" at the same wing level of the landed Tu134, s...
