Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2023 - 16th & 17th September
Accepting the case that the Reds had to delay their display by 30 minutes to gain the necessary airspace (allegedly?) pray tell why that caused the Balbo to be "truncated" to quote the all knowing Ben? It's a fact that the excuse for a Finale minus the tail-chase could easily have fitted ...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2023 - 16th & 17th September
Superb day so far, the Lancaster and B-17 flypast was a lot closer than expected and they stayed together for three passes too, the Swordfish and Catalina flypast? Not so much. π
Though it did fly with the Nimrod which was a nice touch. Just waiting for the air space clearence for the Red Arrows wh...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2023 - 16th & 17th September
As the 9a/c took off east to west, 8 of them turned south to start the tail chase. One of the two seaters turned north then straight back to the runway landing west to east - engine sounded ok but it was back safe and sound on the ground. The Spitfire in question, PT462 both engine ran and flew aga...

Three Harvard's, is a nice addition considering its Reno connection however, the Navy Wings example has to be a contender for ugliest Harvard out there.

Anyone else a little bit disappointed with the flying list? It's not like it's bad but I just thought it would be better. Certainly better in previous years in my opinion.

To me, when I look at a Shuttleworth line up, I'm looking at the visiting aircraft. That's what decides it for me. So although none of the themes sound particularly spectacular (would have loved a return of the Fly Navy event) it will depend on what visiting aircraft are booked.

Does anyone know how much you save on the early bird tickets? Maybe I'm blind but I can't see anywhere where it states how much the tickets will be after he early bird time passes? Doe anyone know when the saving ends too?

Absolutely. Total class act that one! Beautifully flown, so smooth and graceful. (Unbelievably quiet too)Flare Path wrote: βSun 16 Jul 2023, 8:36 pmI really hope the Saab SK60 wins a few awards - one of the most elegant displays I've ever seen, over multiple days.

Well, I had a fabulous time! πββοΈ Yeah there were a few annoying bits, the new security checks, a few too many of the toilets being closed but that really pales in comparison to the flying I enjoyed. Friday, (even if afterwards I did feel shoes were anchored to the ground with the amount of water in...

Hope everyone that went had a great time!
How busy was it?
Always been a great lover of Flying Legends but it was just too far easier getting to RIAT on public transport from London. Hopefully it will make a return on a different weekend next year!

First cancellation in the Saab Gripen E, hopefully not too much more. Also hope people are struggling in the queues as the Yellow entrance was pretty horrendous. You hope people are struggling? Bit harsh, I'm sure you meant arent Very much a typo π

The J-20 Kraguj was a real highlight for me, love the noise it makes. The Navion was wonderful too. The B-17 did a fabulous display as did the Gazelle Squadron. Yes, the wind did spoil things and tech issues did see a couple of the highlights drop off the display but neither of those can be helped. ...

For anyone that plays FS2020 the Ford Trimotor is free in the Marketplace until the 30th of June.
I wouldn't call it perfect but for free, it's worth picking up.
