Re: RIAT 2015

Brevet there has been no news either way over the F-35 in 2015 only that it isn't attending Paris. As others have said, the KLu have already announced at least one of their aircraft will be at the Open Dagen in 2016. Andy Maybe they'll keep one in Europe next year? RIAT, Farnborough, Open Dagen etc.

Hmm, a good point you make John and Vigerous Dragon. I might need to re-think the way I do that now.

Re: RIAT 2015

Alternative arrangements such as media accreditation. I still buy a ticket when I have a media pass. How and why?? How? By going on the website and buying one, usually. Why? To support the show! Why should I enjoy it for free when others don't? I'm watching the same thing as them, after all. I know...

Re: RIAT 2015

Well there are 11 more individual items in last year's than this years so far (taking the three Tornados as 1) so...I would think maybe a few more than 2? Ooh, I hope so I'd say that at a glance there's somewhere in the region of 1 hour of air display time to fill. Perhaps you can enlighten us when...

Re: RIAT 2015

Wissam I was sat in a pub on one of the arrival days last year and there was constant moaning from a guy near me. Constant moaning how RIAT don't ask for the right aircraft anymore. As I overheard more of the conversation he said "static means nothing to me, you cant see it from outside the fe...

Re: RIAT 2015

As it stands they are committed elsewhere over the RIAT period . Seems pretty established to me. Especially when that comes form the horses mouth so to speak (again, no offence Tom!)... Forgot that it came from Tom. I thought it was an ordinary person claiming that as they have another show on (nea...

Breitling Wingwalkers have released their schedule - no RIAT Thought that had already been established a couple of days ago : As are the Breitling Wingwalkers (if they are still interested in performing at RIAT). Why wouldn't they be? As it stands they are committed elsewhere over the RIAT period ....

Re: RIAT 2015

Disappointed about the Indians, and a real shame about the Czech Gripen. Only one thing for it then, give South Africa or Singapore a call and ask if they can send a couple instead! Ask Singapore for what, Gripens or Su-30s? Because we don't have either. Only F-15s, F-16s and F-5s here, plus a few ...

Shame to see both Gripens now cancelled, but thanks to some of you, we guessed that may be coming.

That aside, I'm fairly happy with the update - a good mix of quality and quantity in there, and great to see the Americans attending. So that's it from the USAF, I wonder if the US Navy will come too?

Re: RIAT 2015

Other than the A400M last year there weren't any heavy displays in 2014. I guess it would be plausible to class XH558 as a warbird/heavy. '558 is the size of an A318. Does that count as a heavy? I'm hoping we'll get something big from the RNZAF. I'm sure that by the time all the support aircraft ar...

Re: RIAT 2015

UKAR members will be more likely to attend a number of events this summer. The fact that Joe Public isn't ...

Re: RIAT 2015

You'd have to be a stupendously brave (and stupid) airshow organiser to do that. Even Legends book the BBMF despite their display their being so different to that of all the other participants. The BBMF and Reds are both national institutions and for a high percentage of the audience they are proba...

Re: RIAT 2015

Right now each show has at least something special and unique and in my honest opinion that's how the UK airshow scene should be. Having the exact same acts at every show diminishes the appeal of attending more than one show per year. Fair play to the organisers of Cosford, Yeolvilton and RIAT for ...

Re: RIAT 2015

Do hope the Indian rumours are true. With Cosford and Yeovilton very much upping their game this year, RIAT really needs a "stand-out" item(s). Lets not get carried away until (if) they do actually confirm. And it would be a great shame if we didn't see one in the flying display. Yeovilto...

Re: RIAT 2015

Just something that Brevet posted on the XH558 discussion that I don't think has been mentioned on here yet: Just had a look on RIAT's website , which now has a small feature about XH558's final season. In this article , I note the following : VTTS is now determined to see XH558 end its flying days...
