Spartan Executive over Edinburgh

Just had a Spartan 7W Executive (N17616) rumble over Edinburgh at about 10,000ft. Doesn't appear to be one of the UK-based examples and it appears to have been recently sold. Any know where it's off to, bit of a beggar to spot but looks like it was heading south.

What a truly awesome set of images Paul, looks like halcyon days! Good to see that the tradition of the arrivals days being in glorious weather and the show weekend being slightly more inclement hasn't changed!

Phil had one on a Northolt night shoot some years ago - when was that?
2013 I do believe was when it appeared at Northolt. The Sabreliner has actually been to the UK earlier this year, made a visit to Boscombe Down in April

Re: Sweden's Pocket Rocket at Edinburgh

It's certainly a characteristic little thing, especially with the bright yellow smiley face on the tail of the aircraft. It'll certainly be a shame if the aircraft isn't taken on by the Historic Flight, or at least placed on display at a museum.

Sweden's Pocket Rocket at Edinburgh

A surprise arrival at Edinburgh Airport yesterday was this Swedish Air Force Rockwell Sabreliner Tp86. Now the only one flying with the Swedish Air Force, it is also the only airworthy Sabreliner to based anywhere outside of North or South America. Sadly I missed its arrival, but was great to hear t...

Cleethorpes Beaufighter Wreckage

Well it looks like the Beaufighter wreckage that was discovered on the sands at Cleethorpes didn't last long (figuratively speaking). However, this article doesn't make it particularly clear if they moved the bomb away from the wreckage. https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/grimsby-news/royal-nav...

Re: Aviation- On This Day

Nothing particuarly exciting On This Day, especially in comparison to the quality of the previous posts. Just a normal day at Bournemouth Airport, with the Islander going up on an air-test prior to delivery to FLN in Germany and the ex-MOD/Babcock going up for yet another upset recovery training ses...

Re: Aviation- On This Day

For some reason 18th May has always seen me get up to something aviation related. 2017 resulted in a visit to the de Havilland Museum at London Colney. Will definitely have to make a return visit with the new hangar now being open. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49910023486_b62508c2d8_o.jpg Roy...

Arguably the finest aircraft ever conceived by de Havilland (although granted I am incredibly biased).

Re: 48hr Photo Comp: Helicopter Gunships

Most people take a chair with them to an airshow, some even go to the extent of using ladders to get a better vantage point. This lad combined the two and is clearly having a jolly good time atop his Hind (available to purchase in all good hardware stores). https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/498976...

Re: 48hr Photo Comp: Best aerobatic/stunt performer.

Personally, one of the best solo aerobatic displays has to be the Equipe de Voltige de l'Armée de l'Air. In the hands of Victor Lalloue, the unlimited aerobatics routine he performed in his Extra 330SC at the Paris-Villaroche Air Legend in 2019 was spectacular. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49...

On this day back in 2015, with weather very similar to what's currently being enjoyed in the UK. Arriving into Bournemouth during the last light of the day was this US Navy C-40A Clipper. Annoyingly the aircraft arrived later than estimated, a crying shame with the evening weather being so sunny! ht...

Looks like the 10th April was a busy day for quite a few people. Here's a few of mine of Exercise Joint Warrior 19-1 from Prestwick Airport last year, in some unbelievably clear weather as well! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49756810638_1e39417580_o.jpg DSC_7825 - Copy by ledwooddaniel , on Fl...
