Re: UKAR Pub Quiz!

But Tom, surely the UKAR staff team represents the finest body of collected aviation knowledge that exists in this country?

Re: UKAR Forum upgrade

I think it's unfortunate as neither I nor any of the staffers that helped me with testing ever used the feature in the first place so weren't to know! :joy:

Re: UKAR Forum upgrade

This is the same issue as addressed above. As I said, as far as I can see from online this is the intended functionality. phpBB3 which the board now runs on appears to be login based rather than visit based like phpBB2, which the old forum was on.

A really good interview with an RN F-35 pilot. Very interesting. The Navy do social media and engagement a thousand times better than the RAF, honestly.

Re: Wissam's Christmas Modelling Marathon

Right, I finished the Su-7. A lot went wrong here. Essentially the underside is ruined - I used all the wrong technieus and materials for panel lining it and it's just ruined. However, I switched Alclad Klear Cote and Tamiya enamel panel line accent and the top came out much better ie not a scraped ...

Re the new posts - I'm looking into it but everything I've seen suggests that this is the intended functionality with the modern version of phpBB. I don't think it's very good but if so then I need to see if anyone has found a way to get it to do what it did before. As for the last thing, I can't se...

Until an American president passes a law guaranteeing perpetual power for his political party, I won’t worry too much about ditching my American stuff.
So you've got them til the 2nd of November, are you sure that's enough time?

Well Boris says we should all go back to work if you can avoid using public transport, so assuming most bases are out of the way and most of us use cars, why don't you all head off back to work?
Because some of us also have days off?

Re: Social Distance Spotting

I understand the "common sense" argument, but I fail to see how this will be policed. There is so much open to interpretation in there with regards to open spaces etc. How do you police something like a hobby which is ultimately subjective? What is "essential" to one may seem meaningless to another...

It seems like all of the issues from the upgrade have been ironed out now but do we really need all of the 'Smileys & Emotions'? There's 18 that have a heart on them - do we really need them (not to mention about 40 of the others)?
Bring back the old ones I say!
