Re: UKAR in 2017: What For The Future?

I'm on 3 forums which have now drifted over onto Facebook, 2 of them are car forums, 1 about weather. The Facebook sites have a lot of traffic every single day and many posts, they really outdo the forum versions which are graveyards now but still going. With social media being available at the tap ...

Re: your favourite 2016 airshow moment...

Many of us at the Eric 'Winkle' Brown memorial airshow at Yeovilton thought 'Lancaster' was obviously a misprint as it hadn't flown for months, what a stunning surprise it was to see it appear from behind the Somerset hills and bank sharply before coming over low and sounding better than ever. It ma...

The infamous B52 at Blackbushe incident springs to mind and the Russian Knights for Farnborough 2012 due to whatever excuse it was in the end.

Re: STOW MARIES AERODROME Help Please

Wow, Jane Fleming really has a problem with it! Light aircraft are 19 times deadlier than driving a car and then lists a load of aircraft accidents in 2016, she must work for the Mail!

Good luck, I really hope they don't succeed in their battle.

Re: Man builds Spitfire replica at home

Can't knock the guy on the build, it looks fantastic even though it's not exactly 'a Spitfire' but a 60% scale replica. However, 60 hours in it and he's already doing aerobatics. "It's a little scary but I am getting used to doing aerobatics.” I'd have to build an SR-71, might need a bigger gar...

Re: Boom? I cant think of a better name....

That's almost as bad as Wizz Air, no, infact it is worse! Since Concorde went there is certainly a gap in the market for it, how successful it would be though I don't know, how successful were Concorde flights from London to New York in terms of profit taken after running costs etc?

I know the Swordfish based at Yeovilton is still out and about and that would be an excellent aircraft to learn about. There are a fair few Mustangs around and I believe there's still a Texan/Harvard based at Shoreham.

Re: Tracey Curtiss Taylor PT-17 Stearman Incident

As I see it, she never actually claimed the flights to be "solo", at least not consistently How do you define consistently? There was plenty of evidence where she gave presentations stating she was solo, her website stated she was solo, the award(s) she accepted were for her flying solo. ...

Tracey has been stripped of her Bill Woodhams Trophy, the first time that's happened in history and rightly so, far more deserving people out there than a liar and cheat. Veteran member of the LAA Barry Tempest has made some strong comments about her "I think she is a boastful lady who needs br...

Considering there is nothing mentioned on the Nelsam website or Facebook page one would hope it is just the social media rumour mill in overdrive. Someone has asked on the Facebook group if there's any truth in the rumour so hopefully an official reply will come soon. It would be a tragedy if it was...

Absolutely on the sex thing; seems like they look for an excuse for outcry these days. They?!! Your generalisation of the female race proves a point. I made a comment which has an element of truth to it and could be debated/argued until the end of the earth. In all of the replies only 1 person actu...

Re: Fatal crash at/near Hardwick Airfield

Very sad news, rest in peace to the gentleman passenger in his 80's, everything crossed for the pilot who is critically injured. As a lover of Mustangs I am obviously quite sad that Janie has been lost but it pales into insignificance when there has been a loss of life.

Boeing 'Super' Stearmans belonging to the Breitling Wing Walkers team. Thousands of hours, thousands of displays, thrown around and exerted to some rather decent g forces. I also agree with the Grob, King Air and Tucano although I have always loved the Tucano display. I also have a massive soft spot...

Lovely shots! What was the distance for photography like? I had read so many conflicting reports about the display line being pushed back and I never made it down there for the first time this year. In the past I have struggled with a 300mm at Bournemouth, what are your photographs shot at?

What a fantastic programme! That SAR rescue was real edge of your seat stuff to watch.
