That doesn't necessarily indicate it's preparing to take off.

Nice shots, the Tornado passes are very cool and I love the angle on the second Zlin Savage photo!

"Unfortunately, there was no wind at all, and due to the thick smoke it was impossible to take decent photos of most of their display."

Cor, doesn't that sound familiar!

Couldn't agree more with Chris. All this without any OEM support as well.

Re: UK RAF base defences?

Further to the above, you won't be surprised to learn that counter-UAS (C-UAS) is a very hot topic at the moment and range from hand held, sci-fi-looking disruption devices to other UAVs with nets on them! I'm sure everyone is looking at their best options for this at the moment.

My only disappointment with the RAF Typhoon from the weekend was that they went back to the grey jet on the Sunday when I was back outside so I never got any nicely lit shots of the special scheme!

Re: Radom Air Show 2023 (26-27 August)

It was a great event at Radom, the Finnish, Belgian and Polish F-18/F-16 demos were great. Very underwhelming was the RAF Typhoon demo . The Polish showed all they got with almost every type of aircraft and helicopter involved. Only minus for the event (Saturday), after 15.00 almost no drinks for s...

Re: NATS UK wide technical failure

A bunch of us were flying back from Warsaw last night with a scheduled flight time of 20:15. We ended up delayed to 22:35 and arriving into Heathrow at five to midnight - however, I can't help but feel we lucked out a bit having booked an evening flight which meant we ended up getting home that same...

Re: Radom Air Show 2023 (26-27 August)

Half a litre of water runs out very quickly at 29 degrees :/ what a silly rule. Yeah, they did this when I went in 2015 - I remember walking past a huge vat of various confiscated drinks of all types & containers (including water) & thinking what a stupid thing to be doing. Luckily it wasn'...

Twitter link embeds

Hi all, some of you may have noticed that the baby in charge of the website formerly known as Twitter has, yet again, done something stupid. It seems that at the moment for some people, sharing links from Twitter produce an "x.com" url for pasting. The media embed plugin we use on the foru...

Re: Interesting Internet

That's classy Indeed. I don't recall any other airforce using the RAF100 sticker, including those with origins in the RAF. I remember the French Navy (of all air arms) did use it tangentially on their ATL2 when it practiced (in the window, mind) and on their patches and the Belgian F-16 display jet...

Perhaps you mean the Harbin H-5 (H standing for Hongzhaji)? Although in Romanian service I believe it would have been a B-5 as an export.
