32 Squadron's Entry for RAF100

Quite literally hot off the press, here's a perfectly pleasant image of ZE700 revealing the Home Team's version of the oh-so-awesome RAF100 tail. I'd like to think that it's actually (given what they have to work with) not that bad at all. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-DL2mwF3/0/90f8821f/XL/i-...

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIVa Thursday 19th April 2018

Yet again another ridiculous post by Ruislip rustler. What part of my post suggested any criticism of Phil or anyone else involved in arranging the night. What it of my original post didn't yo bother to read. My question was very simple what changed the risk profile for this event that meant engine...

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIVa Thursday 19th April 2018

Sorry what sort of response is that I'm not asking to name and shame individuals I'm just trying to understand what the logic was behind the decision as it seems strange choice to make something must have changed. If you. Want to bury your head in the sand rather than address that change circumstan...

Who made the decision doesn't matter. It was made and now the event has passed.

Hopefully, it's a one-off - I suspect we'll know in October.

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIV Thursday 22nd March 2018

Ruislip rustler this sort or response is just plain rude and does you no favours at all. It doesn't seem unreasonable to want to know who the possible appearances might be accepting that they may change closer to the time. Quite right. Especially when people are being asked to cough up money, Sadly...

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIV Thursday 22nd March 2018

A Pembroke and a Merlin and some uknown French helicopters, what else is lined up to attend this event - I've not seen any updates on which aircraft have confirmed participation? Why do you think that might be? Could it be because, as you were told over the weekend, this is the CONFIRMED list as we...

Re: RAF 100 anniversary colour schemes

The is something planned involving multiple aircraft types, but no full re-paints as I understand it as the senior Air Heads are mindful of the fact that some serving members don't exactly have the best accommodation to live in and don't want to be seen as frittering cash away unnecessarily.

Evening Ruislip interesting assumption being made that the mod would buy aircraft that needed to be refurbished to get any value out of them, surely the bean counters are smarter than that... If the bean-counters feel that one is enough, why have a spare hanging around collecting dust when it'll only be needed on rare occasions?

Just a quick bump for the thread. After that, if you're a frequent flyer with us or not, ...

Fonts and roundels are wrong. A typically lazy "it'll do" hotch-potch by the RAF. If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing properly... I wonder what your feelings at the time were when Newton Heath FC made a brief appearance in the top flight for a couple of seasons back in the 1990s? Bad...

I think the thing that was missing from this event is that other than the King Air departing there wasn't the usual engine run ups, I don't know if this was deliberate because it was felt it wouldn't give as dramatic effect as they do in the night time shoots but it would be good to see this happen...

Any chance of an opportunity to get out on the sunny ramp side of the aircraft towards the start of the event? As we could shoot these hand held, without tripods, I would think 15-20 minutes would suffice. Otherwise I can see it being a mad last half hour, when the floodlights finally offer some ha...
