Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Exactly, I sometimes watch his shows by dipping in but would probably not sit through the whole 6 or 8 hours. He saw a gap in the market, filled it and fair play to him. I don't think he can do no wrong, on the contrary he has made errors, but just wanted to defend him from the bashing he was gettin...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

I don't mean he tells jokes as such, but he comes over as a likeable and engaging bloke. I have seen that some have an axe to grind for various reasons which I don't know the history of but I judge him on the shows alone, having never met the man. Nowadays, to be a successful vlogger it is not just ...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Try Daz at Aviation in action, better photographer/videographer, better knowledge & an all round better guy Not heard of him but perhaps if his output is of high quality he needs to raise his profile, like BJTV has. Looking at comparisons of YouTube views shows he seriously needs to get more subscr...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Well it seems plenty of people don't find the shows dreary and you mention a better photographer doing a similar thing, pretty sure there isn't one. Unless I am missing something.
No one forces you to watch, I just don't get those on here who knock him, just don't watch, simple.

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Very much enjoyed his show at Coningsby today. His commitment to travel and wait around for hours on end for his viewers is commendable, and that is how he’s been able to make a living from it. Sad reality is the people who are most at grief with the man and his shows, are the ones who are most env...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

True, but there have been at least several occasions where he has been asked to move on due to not having the right permissions for filming, or when he cut the hedge at (?) Manchester/Heathrow or wherever it was. In other words, he can get on with it if he wants, but he shouldn't be doing things to...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Agree, and the snobbery amongst some enthusiasts is appalling.
As you say, no-one is being forced to watch his shows.

He is an engaging presenter, no doubt. Most enthusiasts could not present like he does, yes he makes mistakes but it is good he does not pretend to know everything.

Views of a flypast would not be great from a place like Downing St, would they? Very built up around there.

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Having seen the feeds a few times I can see his appeal to people, he comes over as an average bloke who loves to watch planes and many people identify with that, he does not come over as a know it all enthusiast so people can relate to him. Yes he is mad and not always as funny as he might think but...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

Not sure why everyone is down on the guy, he runs free feeds from LHR most days and I often watch for an hour or two. He knows a bit about civil but guessing less about mil. He obviously pays or at least has agreements with local hotels and farmers fields to let him film at LHR. The mil stuff is pay...

Re: The UK Airshow Review Podcast

I have some feedback: Try to keep mic levels the same, rather than one contributor quiet then another booming. I enjoyed the podcast about writing reviews. Felt like the discussion could have been a bit more structured in places, it seemed to lose its way in places. Would be great to have interviews...

Re: Drive in airshows?

As one of the main attractions of Shuttleworth, to use your example, is for photography, cannot for the life of me see how this could possibly work! Playing devil's advocate, the last time I did Shuttleworth I didn't take the camera as I already have pictures of everything I was likely to see and w...

Re: Drive-in airshows?

As already said, not an idea for the lockdown period but perhaps when restrictions are eased. A way of seeing aeroplanes in the air at least.
I don't use a camera so that would not worry me.

Drive-in airshows?

In these strange times, all businesses and commercial operations will have to think differently and innovate to survive. I had a thought about if drive in displays could work. Drive in, stay in car throughout, drive off. Bring a picnic, and for the loo, observe 2m rule when going. Venues like Shuttl...

For sure I will appreciate any show much more when they do restart. The moans about this or that not being at Riat etc! You know who you are. Hopefully we will all be thankful just to be watching any aeroplanes!

Goodness sake you sound like the hysteria the media wash up. I wasn't worrying about it, just merely pointing out the fact that it'd be a shame as Duxford looks to have pulled out the stops. Enough of the shooting people down. If does its completely understandable given the reasons Not what you sai...

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus

We all love airshows as otherwise we would not be on here but this year we need to accept bigger things are happening, I am preparing for most of the season to be decimated then anything else is a bonus.
Hope for the best but expect the worst.
