Re: Lens advice for Sony A58
imo the 2 obvious candidates for that money, new, are the Tamron SP 70-300 Di USD & the Sony DT 55-300. The Tamron is bigger, heavier, covers a full frame sensor should you ever upgrade to that & is slightly faster to AF as well as having a longer warranty. The Sony is smaller, lighter, chea...

Re: 1st timer to UK - Dunsfold Wings & Wheels
I am told that things may be a bit different at Ayr this year as it will be a high tide unlike last year plus the RN/RM will have pyro out for their display so less of the beach will be available for the public. We are having an appalling "summer" so far so definitely don't take good weath...

Re: Sony 16-80mm lens
what max focal length do you need? If you don't need the 80- then the 16-50/2.8 SSM is very good. If you do need the longer length then the 16-105 & 18-135 are also worth considering.

Re: New camera + lens advice
seems a reasonable deal especially if the 1260 shots taken is true. An A77 would be better of course but also probably dearer ... Remember to allow for a memory card (get an UHS-1 for better buffer clearing), basic cleaning kit, bag etc. For your budget if you can I would look at the Sony DT 55-300 ...

which Nikon 80-400 did they get rid of/you have, the old one or the new AF-S version?

Not a type, but an airfield, as RAF Leuchars becomes army base Leuchars. http://news.stv.tv/tayside/315691-farewell-to-raf-leuchars-in-fife-as-base-handed-over-to-army/ anybody else spot the Rafale sneaking into this report? Re: Sony A77II - 4DFocus Hints & Tips.
Sigma originally said they weren't going to make any Sony E-mount lens as well but apparently are now. Brian Sigma has had E-mount lenses (19mm, 30mm & 60mm) for several years. They do not currently have any FE (E-mount full frame sensor coverage) lenses. If you are referring to the recent DPRe...

Noticed on WEX that the SIGMA 150-600mm/Sony fit is available for pre-order at £1199.00 compared to the Tamron at the discount price of £899.00 (rrp £1149.00) I understood that the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary was at the very least delayed if not cancelled in A-mount? My A77 II should hopefully be wi...

Re: How limited is the DSLR market?
I'm another Sony user. Whilst Canon is the global market leader in DSLRs with Nikon no. 2 & trailing significantly behind Sony at no.3 the individual market shares vary significantly in different markets (e.g. Canon & Nikon have a stronger grip in the US than in Europe & Japan). As well ...

iirc there is ~6,000 car spaces planned for with another potential ~1500 held in reserve should there be demand but they really hope that people will use public transport. They are hoping to maybe get 25,000 people attending on Saturday which would be substantially less than Leuchars drew despite Ay...

Re: Prestwick airshow 2014?
It is on Apron B.
You will enter it via the terminal (near the arrivals/car hire) & you will exit it via the tunnel to in front of the terminal where food stalls etc. will be. You will be able to exit & re-enter as long as you keep your wristband.
