Overheard that the pilot was only to do 3 circuits as dictated by the CAA. What should also be noted was that half the runway, the Bruntingthorpe end was in use as a track while aircraft were in operation at the Gilmorton end. Was on the station when it happened (along with others on this forum I believe), the press photo looks as If cropped, the lens has forshortened and I think (I may be wrong) that the helicopter was already on the grass, the fly through appeared to be above the hard. (It's not my pic BTW)

I can not stand U2 but I watched a recent Interview where they talked about the stage show, looking at it on the Tv it looked as if you would spend more time watching the screen instead of the band, what was the reality like?

We're under the approach to Birmingham from the north, probably about 15 miles away, but low enough to see registration if want to. Above that is traffic from Manchester but high. Depends . We was parked up by gate behind tank bank and sat at M11 end for show. Packed up at end and walked back, packed car and drove out but that was at 7pm, there was still a que.
