Nimrod R1 last flight
Waddington based Nimrod R1 XW665 will make its historic final flight on 27th October, with a flight over RAF Waddington at 1500L to signify its final return from Ops. Thereafter, key components will be removed, before the frame is potentially placed at the Newark Air Museum.

Fantastic shots all round!
The F15 and F16 stand out for me.
Wonderful memories of Deci, the Red, the Nags Head, the 'special' German Bar, the damage to the liver...
Thanks for the flashbacks............"MEDIC!!!"

Re: Ghost Raiders Final Contact
Super capture on the nose art.
Glad you took that as I was unable to get across to see it.
Great capture of the F16s also, - seems to have a symmetry of the fins, fuselage and lights in the bg.

Another vote for shot 6 from me, and I bet it would look great in B&W, or even with a slight tint for the period.
Shot 7 is awesome!

Lovely shot Kev, that's what persistence is all about. Glad you managed to get it after waiting so long, - pity it never came through LFA7 on Wednesday...

Now that's what airshow photography is about!
Lovely selection of images, clear and crisp. I love the F16 shots.

Re: 11/05/09@Leuchars 43SQD F3s Goodbye!!
I know it was branded many years ago, but serious consideration was given to combining two of the Leuchars F3 Squadrons...
43/56 and 56/111 were options, but the one totally ruled out was 111/43, as no Wg Cdr wanted to be in charge of 'The Trembling Cocks'...

Re: Easter Emergency
Combination of info on the yellow blade.
It does assist in offering viz in proximity and relation to distance.
It can assist in master disc tracking on a single blade..
Also, when viewed from above, as the disc rotates at 203 rpm if offers a viewable sight of the width of the full disc.

The words 'salt' and 'wounds' springs to mind mate!
They look even better at this size than on the camera screen.
Well done!

What a super selection of shots. Thanks for posting.
Love shot 2, - either the Armed Forces have pulled everything out of mothballs and ressurected every rotary wing aircratft, or you have lots of major dust spots on the lens / sensor
