Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXVIIa Thursday 13th October 2022
Many thanks to Phil and his team for a very enjoyable couple of hours in West London. Blown away, literally, when the Hercules and A400 reversed before turning around to leave but the highlight for me was flames from the Hurricane exhaust during its ground. Not seen that before. Absolutely agree. P...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2022 - 10th & 11th September
So it seems most on this forum are 100% in agreement the show should happen (unsurprising given its a site for airshows I guess). I take it these same people are highly critical of NI Airshow, Abingdon, and virtually every sporting fixture this weekend including all tiers of every football league a...

I can see a change of decision coming as Abingdon has cancelled their show.

Re: Shrewsbury Steam Rally
Wonderful stuff! I've never done a steam fair but you tempt me. If you want to start big the Great Dorset Steam fair at Tarrant Hinton near Blandford Forum is the place to go. Trouble is this year it was last weekend. (you'll need the whole weekend tho'.!) There are numerous smaller events througho...

Re: Shrewsbury Steam Rally
Reminds me of the excellent and entertaining Fred Dibnah. Wasn't there an old aviation themed movie, that featured a steam enginecalled "Dreadnought". My memory may be faulty, but it involved a technocrat type Yank, who ended up falling in love with a steam engine. Your memorys not comple...

Thank you. Thought it was too good to be true. I notice that the Mildenhall Ospreys come up as Black Eagles T-50s.

Lakenheath T-38?
Just browsing ADSB and noticed a T-38 coming out of Lakenheath? Not heard anything about it. Is it correct or a 'misreading' by ADSB? (F-35)? At the moment its showing over the North Sea with 2 Mildenhall tankers and something else.

The big ones at Farnborough
Not a classic year at Farnborough as many have said but still good to see the big airliners being thrown about. Also a couple of my personal favourites. In no particular order. Thanks for looking. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52238121230_41c4d58626_h.jpg IMG_2181 https://live.staticflickr.com...

Re: FIA 2022
Went to the show yesterday. Wasn't going to bother to go in but I missed 80% of the arrivals due to being in hospital. In general it was lacklustre, and that was not just due to the heat. The Italian area had 2 aircraft and 2 helis, normally trebble that, Textron just 2 Bell's, no Beech or Cessna. ...

Re: FIA 2022
These new rules regarding flying displays at Farnborough really don't make much sense. The Black Eagles spent all last week practicing at 20min formation display over Farnborough and yet 4 days later, they are only allowed to do a single fly past for the actual airshow. How does that make any sense...

Further to my original post it would appear the chap who originally asked only gave me half the story. It's an Ammunition Counter not computer! It turns out it was even repaired by the company that I work for when they were in another part of town just after the war.(long before my time) He'd even g...

Have you any potential dates? It could be something to do with gunlaying. If you are on Britmodeller, ask Selwyn; he’s an ex-armourer and very knowledgeable Thank you. I will. Apparently the serial number is A53/42 so whether that's code for 1953 or 1942 I don't know. Hopefully he'll send the pictu...

E.D.Wynn Ammunition Computer?
Someone has contacted me and asked if I could find out anything about the above piece of equipment? I can find loads of compa...
