Re: 4 days at Tanagra

Nice and rare pictures, but you ruin them with editing. The compression is to high, there are already BIG artefacts of compression visible. Also contrast and other things should be adjusted. The pictures look out of a pocket cam with bad editing at the moment to be honest.

Re: The old favourite food in FRIAT

Ok, thats a nice thread (hopefully). I want to go to the RIAT next year (I will decide in 1 month) and wanted to know how expensive the food directly on RIAT is for a whole day for example? What do I have to exspect? Long queues? Good food? And are there any tickets where food is included? Would be ...

Re: Dunk's Brno CIAF 2008 Thread

The slovak migs are grounded because of technical problems. That's why they also did not display in Kecskemet and also do not participate at the Ostrava NATO Airday. After visiting 4 CIAFs in row this was my first CIAF I did not visite, I was rather suprised how small the real display list and parti...

Re: Scanners

What I hate at todays scanners is the very bad sound quality, because of the cheap speakers inside. I had a Bearcat 220XLT for myself, but sold it because it was not really satisfying... I never had an ICOM, but I fear only the expensive ones have better speakers inside than the cheaper average...

Re: Canon Repairs

In Germany you have the right of adjustment with every new body you buy. So if you buy a new body, there should be no problem with an old lense. Only thing Canon always wants to have is a local bill (so you did not buy the lense overseas for example.) I do not know if the warranty things are same in...

Re: Filters

I use my lense hood! I will never put any filter on my camera. As I take care of it I do not have to fear scratches and such things. UV-Filter is already integrated in camera, so it can only make the image quality worse. If you want to have a good filter you will have to buy a B&W or comparable ...

Re: "...A little "peed off" at Red Flag spotters..."

Who can really say he is ONLY earning money with reports from RED FLAG or such missions? I think this a real minority, beeing journalist as occupation... I wonder if the TO really is journalist as he stated, or not only just enthusiast like us who publish articles from time to time! If he is the guy...

Re: Which scanner - suggestions please

BTW: Is it allowed to listen to airband in the UK? The scanner also can listen to police, fire brigade... IMHO (Frequency range: 25 - 1300MHz), in austria this scanner would be forbidden. Is this same in UK?

First of all, what do you mean? A radio scanner or a film scanner for slides and such stuff? Or a flat bed scanner? :)

Re: Canon100-400L v Canon400L

It depends what you want it for. Why not keep the 100-400 and get a 400 and second body?? I have a 100-400 but have hardly used it since I got the 300 2.8 with a 1.4 and 2x convertor I was very glad with my Volkswagen, but since I have my Ferrari I hardly use the Volkswagen! We understand you Geoff...

Re: Sony A900

Nice body (nice to edit 24MP-Raws ), but which lense you want to put on it? Sony/Minolta does not have a lense "park", their lense park even does not exist. The 300mm 2.8 has no IS for 7000 Euro... There is no 200mm 2.8, no 400mm, no 500mm, no 600mm... If you buy a Sony body you are locked...

Ebay? :D I bought mine via ebay, but I have sold it to a friend, as I did use it TWICE a year. I had a 430EX, the 430EX II is in stock now. I would think about wether you really need a flash. I paid 40 Euro for knowing it now!

Re: Canon100-400L v Canon400L

How can the second shot be a 100% crop, if the first is not already a crop? The size of the first would be already too small if the second should be a 100% crop? (Hope you understand what I mean :ninja: )
