Re: 2009 Kit Buyers Beware - Tamiya prices increased
The owner of Parabellum, my local kit shop, told me that there will be a price increase across all companies. But he is only going to issue the new prices as and when he restocks. An example he gave was the Hasegawa 1:48 Ark Royal Phantom. It was supposed to be released in 2008 at £24, but now it is...

Deacon History
Hi guys, Happy New Year. Just thought as a newbie to the forum I'd give a little background about my model making "career". Basically I have been making models on and off for 30 years and clearly have a lot to learn about the hobby. I have been a figure painter for most of this time, usual...

Tornado DVD
Dont' know whether any of you guys are interested, but The Works are selling a Tornado DVD for 99p. The Music is lame, the commentary not too bad, but its the actuall shots of the aircraft that may be of use to modellers. Picked a copy up from New Street, Birmingham.

Re: Tamiya Colours
Tom thanks for your help and that is a really useful tip. It just demonstrates to me, again, that I really no nothing about model-making skills. But, and I am sorry to be a pain, if I was to use Tamiya pots instead of the spray, what Tamiya pot paints would people recommend as substitutes for the Ta...

Tamiya Colours
I need your help again guys. I am having a mini competition with a mate, we are both building Me 262's 1:48 scale. The prize, a bottle of real ale for the winner (so all to play for). But, he has already come across a problem. What is the corresponding Tamiya XF colour (small acrylic pot) for the fo...

Re: Vallejo Paints: RAF Overall Grey
Seamus, Craig, really appreciate the advice guys.
Imagine a 42 year old guy, returning to the hobby and always built from the box, that's me.
Over scale decals !! Never even entered my head.

Re: Vallejo Paints: RAF Overall Grey
Great, you obviously know a lot more about Jaguar colour schemes than I do. So,er, the obvious question I need to ask is what greys might they be in the Vallejo range Damien? The Italari instructions for the T.2 at Coltishall 2004 says Dark Sea Grey Model Masters 2059. They show the aircraft in just...

Vallejo Paints: RAF Overall Grey
Hi guys, Wonder if you can help me with the above. I have used Vallejo for the past 18 years as a figure painter (15mm). Now I am enjoying a return to model making, especially 1:72nd. I have three RAF fighters to make up: Jaguar, Tornado and Harrier. The Jaguar is ready for spraying and I have given...
