That Neptune is beautiful (thanks!), but the Shin Meiwa takes the cake.

Mark, thanks for adding your photos. That Blackbird looks great, almost as good as it looked in 1985 at the Air Tattoo at Fairford!

Re: Lackland AFB, Texas
Thanks for your comments, guys. Koen, that's an interesting link. I didn't know the 105s have left. Sad indeed. You can see it happening, really, in Google Maps. When you go to 29.372171,-98.625233 you'll see an empty strip of concrete in satellite view, but when you zoom in you'll get the bird's ey...

Lackland AFB, Texas
Lackland AFB near San Antonio (Texas) is where all USAF personell enjoy their basic military training. It is attached to Kelly AFB, home of the TX ANG C-5s and F-16s, and rework facilities of Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Check it out on Google Maps or Bing, as there is lots of interesting stuff visib...

That lovely Tracker beats all the boring grey P-3 Orions of today. Do you have Neptunes too?

Dino, your scans are all great, but I'm sure the original slides are near perfect to get results like this.

Some more Wildenrath Phantoms from the 1980s. What great place that was. It took me 4,5 hours to get there by train and rental bike (and then back again), but it was worth it most of the times! Still without the horizontal bar on the vertical tail, July 1982. http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/ll364...

I love the camouflaged T-25 and the P-95 Bandeirulha! I see a Skyhawk-nose (beak?) peaking around the P-95. Please show us more!

Re: London International Air Show (Canada) 1988
Thanks for the comments! IAT83 had a great line-up of European Phantoms for the 25th anniversary. London was the 30th anniversary. Were any shows held for the 35th, 40th or 45th? I doubt it. Next year the F-4 will turn 50, so something should be done to celebrate this, somewhere! never get enough of...

London International Air Show (Canada) 1988
In the 1980s and 90s the London International Air Show was the largest air show in Canada. And the 1988 edition promised to be particularly good: the special theme was the 30th anniversary of the F-4 Phantom. This resulted in maybe the best Phantom line-up ever: 24 F-4s from the US and 2 from German...

Re: Corrupt memory cards
Have any of you used a flash card tester? I have tried the free USB Flash Drive Tester ( http://www.vconsole.com/client/?page=page&id=13 ). It scans your flash card for errors while writing and/or reading. I crashed a SanDisk CF-card once, but managed to rescue most photos on it. As it was compl...

Re: Weather
The UK climate isn’t suitable (anymore) for this kind of events, so why not move RIAT to Southern France, Italy or Spain? Like what they did with the Tactical Leadership Program (Florennes to Albacete). As the weather is not going to improve, I’ve decided to cancel my trip to RIAT. Everything was pa...

The chances of anything coming from Japan are a million to one, we said. But right now, a JSDAF B767 isn’t really good enough for some of you. You’re spoiled. There have been RIATs where a plane like that would have been the star of the show. I would love to see it.

Let Getty Images bleed for this. The agency sues anyone who dares to use their copyrighted photos without paying big money, even when it's naive website owners.

Nice shots Agg, I was at Bodo on Friday and Saturday. Two sunny days - the first cold, the second warm but very windy. On Friday I went to the official spotters' place outside the base, climbed a hill and found a perfect spot for landing shots. On Saturday the base openend at 9.15 in stead of 10 whi...
