Re: Questions for RIAT 2009

The public grandstand is set back with roughly 70m (rought guess from looking from friat grandstand) of the public in front of it. If you want to do multiple days, best bet is FRIAT mach 2; an ok mid-grandstand seat which does not go to ground level (whole thing is elevated 3-4 metres) with the opti...

Positive gov response to Red Arrows 2012 petition.

Ok I'm not the creator of the petition but I had to post this. It is excellent to see so much public support for the Reds to fly at the 2012 opening ceremony. In total 502,134 people signed! Even more surprising is the positive response from the government; they usally try to dodge these petitions. ...

Stealth!

Ever wondered what the F/A-37 Talon was like to fly??? Answer: Superb. Can out turn anything and has a top speed of 1500kts. Also in Wings Over Vietnam with a little data editting you can crush vietcong fighters in the 1970s using 2000s missiles and technology! Oh and go into space with a hypersonic...

Re: Even more expensive hotels.

Well after asking around, and shopping around Ive managed to get a room 6 miles from the airfield and a proper hotel for one third the price I paid this year at Premier Inn

I do believe another Ukarian uses this hotel every year that usually sits behind me in the grandstand.....

Re: JSF Slating - Janes Defence Weekly

Ok I know this guy is very very pro F-22 and anti F-35 for the RAAF so his view is biased but he has never been known to actually make things up... WA Liberal backbencher Dennis Jensen said he had spoken to a third party with knowledge of the final classified test results who had claimed the JSF had...

Even more expensive hotels.

Well, I rang a hotel in Swindon today which is usually £55 per night.

Their quote for RIAT2009... £130 per night!

Looks like the price hikes are going to be much higher than last year!
