Re: RIAT 2017 Weather Hype
It's not the colour of your brolly it's the size that counts. I've a 6ft fishing brolly. The people around E75 can thank me later... Thats all very well, but if it gets very windy you could find yourself getting the "mary poppins" award at the Sunday presentation ceremony, and its never e...

Re: RIAT 2017 Weather Hype
Its going to rain torrentially, so I am taking a brolly!
What colour brolly is best? I think I will take a black one with a rubber point just in case there is Lightning about.

Re: Does anyone else remember?
One of my earliest air show memories is seeing a Concorde for the first time when G-BSST appeared against a dark stormy sky at a Turnhouse air show in about 1971. Would that have been about the same time or even same day? That the same airframe displayed at Woodford? I do remember many being quite ...

Whatever you do make sure you bring an umbrella and check that you dont have footwear that is letting in water. Only a couple of years ago I found my left trainer was taking on water an a miserable day followed.

Re: Farnborough 1988
.......I will bet you there was nothing "cock up" about that landing. Just a very rare opportunity for a Soviet Pilot to show a bit of airmanship to a western audience.... Only if continuing with a bad approach and taking out runway lights is considered "good airmanship". A real...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]
I think Peter and his team can be well pleased with their efforts and how it turned out overall. The weather was not perfect but it could have been far worse, infact the brief but spell of foul weather somehow contrived to enhance that very moody B1 pass. As for the content of the show, the already ...

Found this on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiheoXf-IEs Yikes!.... A go-around was a better option I think. What a great bit of footage, never seen this before. I will bet you there was nothing "cock up" about that landing. Just a very rare opportunity for a Soviet Pilot to show...

I dont think it can in anyway be ruled out as a potential target. However the nature of these people is to take the cowardly route by hitting soft targets. Not somewhere where early detection and a rapid response is very likely.

Re: Less than 4 months to go, time to worry about the W word
I have to say I am now deeply concerned having seen on the Cosford thread rumours of rain being forecast on some website and have thus decided to stay in and watch Sunday Brunch on that day. Does anybody have any reliable information on what weather they have planned for RIAT this year and if so on ...

Re: Furzey or Totterdown?
Totterdown is a very dangerous place, several people have been pecked by a goose there, and I know at least one having been stung by a wasp. It has also frequently hosted some terrible outbreaks of hangover sickness with startling amounts of people struck down, sometimes so severe as to be confined ...

Re: Save the Skymaster
Are you actually likening this project to TPM? Have a quick flick (I mean ten seconds) at TPM's website and then edit your post above would be my tip of the day, before anyone else notices! TPM may not have done everything perfectly but they're a lot more organised than this group seem to be. As it...
