Re: RIAT 2014 wishlist.

The latest news I heard was that they are working on the civilian registration for the J-35 and SK-37 and that they hope they will be flying to take part in air shows this summer, but nothing about the J-32. The SwAFHF are having their annual meeting soon so maybe more information will be available ...

Re: RIAT 2014 - Participation Thread

Another Hercules can't be a bad thing though (assuming it gets confirmed, of course) I thought that DBH's policy over the last few years is that they don't announce an aircraft until it's been definitely confirmed as attending. Given that in this instance it's a case of "Yes , as long as it's ...

Re: Tamron announce a 150-600mm lens

Hope someone will post their experience of this while shooting aviation. From reviews it seems like a really good lens even though you might have to go to f8 in the 500-600mm range to get sharp images. And it's supposed to be way better than the Sigma lenses that go out to 500mm. My biggest worry th...

Re: 70 Years - F17 at Ronneby

I'm a bit more hesitant even though it's not that far away. Went to the airshow at F7 Såtenäs in Sweden last year and the conditions sucked. You had the sun in front of you the whole time and the flight line was miles away. With my 300mm lens (on a 1.5x crop camera) I got basically 5-6 useful shots ...

Did they receive their last Gripens get? Otherwise we might hope for a Thai Gripen to come over before heading to Thailand.

RIAT 2013 - Departures

Some of my shoots from the last day of this years RIAT. The weather wasn't perfect with grey boring backgrounds despite the sun being out. http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag128/tmattias/RIAT%20-%20Departures/DSC_4321-Edit_zps3a842098.jpg 1. Re: Volkel 2013 by Me - Final Update.

Great set of photos!! Do you use a tripod? I wondering because of the extremely slow shutter speed in some of the photos. No, I don't use a tripod or monopod, they are blocking freedom of move especially during panning shots. All of them done handhold. That's making the photos even more impressing!!

Re: 50th Anniversary of the Red Arrows... ?

Sadly, given the configuration of RAF Fairford during RIAT, we have not been able to identify any location for parking armed aircraft that will satisfy the stringent MOD regulations covering explosive materials. And this is not for the lack of trying!

Surprised about the PC-7, didn't see their display yesterday but today's didn't impress me. Felt the other display teams had the edge over them (and that is not because most were flying jets)

When does the plane generally leave tomorrow? In the morning so I should be there at 8 when the FRIAT enclosure opens?

And does anyone know how many planes left today/tonight and how many are leaving tomorrow?

Re: RIAT 2013

So according to the schedule the KC-767 is just doing a fly past? I thought it was going to do a full display? I don't think anywhere had said for sure it would be. I think we all just assumed that they would, being Italian and all. It'll be joined by two Typhoons though so hopefully it'll have its...
