Even though I had been expecting that announcement after all the rain we have had, I'm still disappointed.

Re: Race Day - 4th October
The weather forecast for Sunday is currently light showers and a gentle breeze which on its own is not ideal but not too bad. I'm more concerned with the forecast for Saturday with heavy rain and the impact that could have.

Re: Battle Of Britain 80: The Night Shoot
This has now been postponed due to the weather forecast. While it's disappointing, it's also understandable given the weather forecast and I think its the correct decision in the circumstances. I was looking forward to it though, as its probably my last aircraft 'fix' of the season.

Re: New show date 18th October Season finale?
Not surprising really, though it is a shame. I think it was a bit late in the season and I'm guessing that finding participants away from OW so late was difficult.

Re: Aero Legends 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow
I agree with the earlier posts, Sunday was well organised and most people behaved in accordance with the guidelines. Groups stayed in their box in chequerboard fashion and kept the gaps between. The exceptions were the woman that passed close by with her hands in her jacket pockets and had the two m...

How close was he, close enough to be classified as a near miss? I wonder if that's the same idiot that disrupted the Red Arrows display a few years ago?

Re: Aero Legends 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow
I should have added above that there are no toilets in the car park which is not very helpful if you have travelled a long distance.

Re: Aero Legends 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow
Yes they seem to be moving people immediately. Just to reinforce what was said yesterday, the toilet situation is a joke by normal standards, forget covid secure standards. A steward told me with a straight face that the nearest toilet was back out the entrance (there's no exit gate) so I had to go...

Re: Aero Legends 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow
The BBC is showing cloud with a low percentage chance of rain just now. I think the bigger issue will be the wind, both the strength and the temperature, both will be challenging. I'll be relatively happy so long as its stays dry, though I do wonder if we will get much flying with that wind.

I think its a request regarding food and drink rather than being mandatory. I'm planning on taking some drinks and snacks but I will also use the restaurant.

Inside the Spitfire Factory
More 4, Monday 28th September 21;00 A new series titled 'Inside the Spitfire Factory' is starting on 'More 4' next Monday. It doesn't provide too much in terms of detail but I believe its about the restoration of Spitfire T.9 TE308 which has been painted to represent A58-606 in RAAF colours. https:/...

Currently, the weather for Friday looks like light cloud but a cool 12 degrees. Warming slightly over the weekend with sunny intervals but nothing like this weekend.

Thanks Mike, I stand corrected. I believe that you are correct that G-HITT is still based at OW. For some reason I thought that it had moved.

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
Its a good question. However, I would have thought that if you are in a local lockdown you are not allowed to leave the area. I wouldn't expect there to be an obligation on the IWM to check whether any or all individuals are legally allowed to attend. There are lots of uncertainties as to how the la...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
I travelled on the underground and by bus today for the first time in six months to attend a medical appointment and TBH it nearly frightened the life out of me. The majority of people behave well but about 15% of people were either not wearing a face mask at all or took it off once on board. Those ...

Re: Vintage Air Day Sun 6th Sep
The organisation was interesting compared to the August show in that people were allowed to wander, enter the hangers, go to the fence and go on the flight line tour. It almost felt like a normal show. I didn't see the email confirming this until late on Saturday so that was a nice bonus. Generally,...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
I have no issue with crowds. I would simply like to know broadly what COVID-19 mitigation measures are being put in place before I buy a ticket. My heath and safety is my priority and over rides my desire to attend an airshow where some people may show a lack of consideration for others by not socia...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.
That's all good and well. However, the real question will be how will social distancing be maintained especially at an event where a significant number of people (not everyone) will want to be on the fence line or very near it and maintaining a 1m distance will be nigh on impossible never mind 2m. T...
