Re: Where has XH558 thread gone?

Some questions were asked by a long-time VTTS Club member on the VTTS forum, which ( not unexpectedly ) haven't been responded to by anyone from VTST. As the questions are no doubt ones which people on this forum would also be interested in seeing answered, I'll post them on here.....but like the p...

Re: Shackleton WR963 - [Official Topic]

If you've been donated funds to restore it to flight or pay for a hangar, but instead use it to have fun with your mates then isn't that an issue for the charity commission? I know a chap that's given over £300 and is spitting feathers.

Re: 2016: The Biggest Season In History - The Enthusiast's R

Sorry, you don't cancel an event four days out for the reasons given. They'll have known the increased costs for months beforehand. My thinking is poor ticket sales, on the back of an appalling line-up and last year's traffic shambles (and subsequent Facebook postings), coupled with a dodgy weather...

Makes me chuckle when I see someone telling people how great they are. More so when they've acted like a total tit.

The various nicknames may not be in the dictionary but they are names given to them in service.

They may not wish to fly it, you need more than one pilot. Who knows. Point being is that single stick wasn't suitable. They'll be other factors involved too.

Re: Canberra WK163 to be restored to flight

XH134 is, despite claims otherwise, a single stick so crew training and conversion wouldn't be possible. That's the main reason it wasn't purchased. Pointless buying and returning to flight an aircraft you can't fly.

Re: Vulcan XH558: The Next Chapter

I fear whatever VTTS plans are for WK163, the current climate of hysteria around classic jets will make it unviable. The way the CAA are behaving, it's one thing to restore it, quite another to allowed to, or afford to, fly it. WK163's a lovely aeroplane, but I fear legislation and the post-Andy Hi...

Re: Vulcan XH558: The Next Chapter

The PR9 is a single stick. They would face huge difficulty in converting crews on it. The one they've bought is a twin stick. No such crew conversion issues.

Re: Highlights and Lowlights of the 2015 Season

Highlights As you might expect, XH558 will feature on this list! RIAT - both Saturday and Sunday - on both days the finishing zoom climbs were something I thought I'd never witness. Dunsfold - 558's display and an opening pass howl that had even hardened observers staring in awe. Sywell - October a...

Except the Russians aren't bombing isil/Isis. They're hitting the FSA, among others, in the north of the country. These fine fellows are ethnic Turks. The Turks, our friends, are buying oil off Isis. Isis are laughing their heads off at the total mess we've made of this.

Yes, I understand all of that. However, barring a major failure, there will be at least some engine life left at the end of this season. Had the OEM's not pulled the plug and assuming money could be raised for routine servicing then some flying would have been possible next year. So I would still l...

Gnat private display team jet crashes at Carfest Cheshire. The pilot has ejected. Emergency services on scene.

That's not an account connected to any of the emergency services so I wouldn't put to much stock in what they tweet.
