CVIX Haha. I understand your concern after today as yes, I WAS there but left soaked to the skin. Yes, even my optimism has its limits! I stayed for the French 135 then left as all the stuff I came to see I couldn’t- 262,Fitter, F4’s and Spanish/Italian Harriers so left early despite the flying. Not...

Do you think if they cancel it’ll be both days or just tomorrow?
I would put my mortgage on neither…. See above.

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

In some ways Sat winds might cause more problems than rain 😟 alas we will see Yesterday everyone said today would be 100% off, no one has a clue Not everyone. Think I even mentioned the word optimistic. 😉😁 ‘Tis pretty grim though but at least there’s some flying. Top work from all the ladies and ge...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

With my optimistic hat on the commentary team imply that conditions should be ok for some displays with vis 5k and forecast to improve and cloud scattered at 500’ BUT main base 2500’. Cautiously optimistic here if the forecast holds true ( but knowing little about individual display requirements )

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

Personally I think all flying displays will be grounded on Sat. High winds, heavy rain, thunder and lightning what more do you need? Plagues of locusts and frogs, well you did ask. Google the 10 plagues of Egypt - things were worse then. Luxury. I used to dream of locusts at IAT’s in the 80’s. We ‘...

So much negativity on here at the moment. Its just a bit of rain. Turn up and if flying happens it does. Its the rough we get with the smooth in this hobby Indeedy. To try and bring a bit of positivity the latest forecast for Brize shows light rain on and off all day. However , it shows for most of...

I went to the Midlands Airshow last night, mainly to see the 'Dambusters' flypast. For some reason I expectced all 3x BBMF planes to be in it, but then realised that it was just about the bombers. Still, looked good, with the different roar of both planes sounding good. Im not sure If Im allowed to...

SoCal Airshow '23 -March ARB

When you arrive on base and the first a/c you see is one of the Metrea 135's you know its going to be a good day and so it proved to be. After an absence of 5 years the March ARB hosted the Socal airshow last weekend with chance of being able to show off the vast majority of USAF/ANG assets as well ...
