Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.
Agree with some of the replies, but there's a bit of stuff that does seem the same every year (which I understand why), but if other big summer festivals do it year on year people would call them out for it (like booking the same acts over and over again) - regardless being a military show and ther...

Re: Budget airlines
Ryanair are fine. You get what you pay for, but they usually get you there at significantly less cost than other operators. Never understood the hate they get, the only significant delay they’ve ever caused me (flying with them 2-3 times per year) was due to a cracked windscreen on arrival into Krak...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
Did anybody manage to get hold of the patches from the ROAF An-26? Went up twice on Sunday, but no joy. Was also told one of the stalls was selling Saudi Hawks patches? They were selling from inside the aircraft apparently....mate of mine got a few nice ones. I assume it was maybe the wind & ra...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
RJF / RJAF are a RIAT staple - their display is excellently flown, and the commitment of the team / RJAF C-130 crew turning up each and every year without fail is worthy of admiration in its own right. Re: Jordan sending jets instead, as I understand it the RJF are not a purely military concern and ...

It has to be said, what an absolutely superb effort all round - in very challenging conditions. What a show. I’ve come away, for the first time in a number of years, wishing I could do it all again next weekend. Great work and a huge congrats to all involved. The flying ran like clockwork, through r...

Anyone hear the *odd* comments / music over the intercom during Al Fursan on Sat?
Seemed to be overplayed / embedded in the music, with some bizarrely derogatory language. A few people commented on it.

Can we all stop with the absolute ridiculousness please?
In the last week this thread has descended into 99% baseless rumours, pointless speculation / conjecture and downright trolling.
A handful of you seem to have whipped yourself up over nothing. Bizarre.

Re: Flying Legends 2023 - 15-16 July - Leeds East/Church Fenton
Why does TFC have to change its date, why not get RIAT to move, not that its a problem for me, as I have zero interest in RIAT anyway, too many noisy jetty and whirly things for my liking  It doesn't. But if I was in charge and doing everything I could to make it a financial success.........

Re: Flying Legends 2023 - 15-16 July - Leeds East/Church Fenton
Looks like an excellent lineup and Fenton is a lovely venue - I enjoyed the show that was put on at Church Fenton back in 2015 (totally unconnected to this, but it’s a nice venue)
But why oh why has it been organised on the same weekend as RIAT?!
A bit baffling, really.

Is there a location where the flypast usually make landfall?
Down on the Norfolk coast this weekend and wouldn’t mind trying to catch it if I can.

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
A few more points (not all of which are Cosford’s fault): - What is the RAF aversion to displaying their special schemes? The wonderful 40 Years Chinook was nowhere to be seen at the RAF’s only show….the less said about the C-130 ‘effort’, the better. - Scandalous pricing of drinks. Lattes £4 each, ...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
We left for the car at 3:15, too hot & miserable from the heat, crowds and generally poor lineup. Pluses: - Typhoon display - the best I’ve seen from the type in RAF hands. Aggressive, low and close. - Patrouille Suisse - simply superb from start to finish, with a brilliantly polished and punchy...
