Thanks Mario.

I'm hoping to start building 1:35 stuff and I'm thinking of making the Sherman the tank of choice to build.

Re: 1:76 Revell Sherman Firefly

How did you go about weathering the tracks? They look impressive and I have an Airfix tank in the stash somewhere I fancy building soon. Sorry for not getting back sooner mate. Basically I think I just dabbed dark earth with earth pigment mixed in and then when it was dry I painted the edge of the ...

Re: It's not an airplane...

I'm not a moderator Mario so my opinion doesn't count for much. But having posted on the modelling forum of UKAR for some time, there has never been an issue raised regarding the type of models built. UKAR is biased to aircraft and that is of course the most type of model that will be built and show...

Re: GB Help

OK, the current GB 'Special Schemes' finishes Friday.

The next GB is 'USAAF 1942 onward' which will run from the 1st November 2014 till 31st January 2015.

I'm not going to host this one guys, so if no one else hosts then I think we'll just let it slide.

Cheers

Sorry I haven't posted before mate as I saw your post at work, but couldn't see the photos. OK, can I make one suggestion about your dio? BUILD MORE! I'm guessing this is 1:72? If it is, the detail on those troops is stunning . If its not 1:72 but is 1:35, the detail on those troops is wonderful. Re...

Deacon's Model Sale

A change in what I want to model has resulted in some kits being selected for sale. There are no prices, make me an offer, I can always say no. Multiple kits in photos can be split up. Airfix kits have had the Flying Hours removed. Postage will be at cost. Thanks for looking. Alan http://i360.photob...

Re: Matchbox 1/72 Phantom FGR2 Trio

You lucky sod! What I wouldn't give to have just one copy of this! Why? FTS will make a good job of them but the Matchbox kit is one of the worst F-4s ever moulded. Blunt nose, canopy too flat, strange additions at the base of the fin, panel lines which would grace the Somme. Because I built it as ...

1:76 Revell Sherman Firefly

Of course this is the Matchbox kit reboxed. The rubber tracks for this one were a real pain as the paint just kept flaking off. One of the rear idler wheels bent as I was putting the track on so I had to pin it, so out of the recent 1:76 armour builds this was the worst (although the fit of the Gran...
