Re: More F-35 woes...
I seem to remember a certain UKAR member suggesting we'd never see the F-35 low level. Well four F-35A's have gone through the Mach Loop today on the types first operational European deployment.

Brilliant update. Really hoped we'd get Couteau Delta and the Rafale solo display. Well done Tom and all at DBH.

Great set.
Interesting seeing the F-15C's with CFT's. Wonder why that idea didn't take off with the F-15C/D fleet?

Re: International Air Tattoo 89 RAF Fairford
You have the choice of 87, 89, or 91 Russ, so 89 is probably the one. At least you can claim to have been there! Ha. 1989 it'll be then. I was only seven, so that's my excuse. I must have gone on the Saturday, as I've definitely never saw the SR-71 fly. I can almost hear the squeals of anguish from...

Superb. What a show.
Got a funny feeling this might have been my first IAT (or possibly '88), but have no obvious recognition of it.
What did the Canberra do to get red carded?

Maybe his son still uses it? As he's "managing" his fathers business interests while Daddy does the big job.

Maybe it's just me and/or now looking in from the other side these days, but these endless fundraising appeals are relentless and quite boring too. It feels like the hobby is being swamped with all sorts of restoration bids. Sure, some are extremely worthy, like Just Jane and the Shack at Coventry a...

Superb. Quite a coup too. Must make the effort to go when it's on full display.

Would be a massive long shot, but if it was a Buccaneer, it'd certainly get many peoples attention and interest. Vampire's are lovely, but they aren't unique as Steve says.

Re: Catch the Polish Mig-29's and Su-22's while you can!
Seems the MiG-29's and Su-22's are going to be around for a while yet... Poland shoots down used F-16A/B acquisition “We are not going to buy used older versions of the F-16,” deputy minister for national defence Bartosz Kownacki told a parliamentary committee examining the modernisation of the coun...

With the amount of derision that he's being getting I can't say I'm surprised. And why report every week if nothing's happened? But if you're trying to sell the concept, the very least you can do is respond to concerns of potential donors, even if you don't have all the details ironed out. Honesty ...

Re: Mid air refuelling question
It's probably all down to costs. You're then paying for two aircraft to be in the air, all for the sake of say a two hour stop to refuel in Hong Kong or Singapore for example. That would inevitable mean a ticket cost hike to the customers in an already competitive market. Presumably there would also...

Re: RIAT 2017 wishlist
We can finally all stop hoping for an "Indian Navy Bear", which seemed to be the rumour for the past decade. Their Tu-142M fleet is being retired this week and replaced by the P-8I. I suspect this one will go down in UKAR folklore like the German MiG-29.
