Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XIV

Thanks Phil and co - yet another fantastic nightshoot. A great selection of aircraft, all nicely spaced for photography. Oh, and the Sabreliner was drop-dead gorgeous - top marks for bagging such a rarity

Re: Fairford IAT 1994

Thanks for all the kind comments. It certainly did take a long time to scan them, and more so to edit them! Particularly removing dust spots etc. I remember being stunned by the Comet almost disappearing in clouds of spray while using reverse thrust - thankfully not enough to stop me pressing the sh...

Fairford IAT 1994

I've been busy scanning some of my favourite shots from 1994's IAT. All shot on Praktica MTL5 cameras with Kodak Gold 100 and 400 film: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8506/8501243492_10e9fee209_o.jpg SAAB J-35F Draken by nickchalloner , on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8377/8500136543_879c43dc...

Loganair Documentary

BBC Alba recently transmitted an excellent little documentary on Loganair, which is now available on iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01pkm8g/Seo_am_Pleana_Island_Flying/ I found out about it from the Flyer forum, where there's some info on repeats if you want to watch it on TV: http:/...

Re: How to get a RC Mustang Back....

LHS occupant seems to be seriously experienced, but the manoeuvre wasn't without risk (e.g. tailrotor strike or getting a skid caught in the foliage). Dead cool though. Smoking is no big deal - many of the aircraft I've flown are from the 60s and 70s and still have ashtrays!

Some great alternative views there Jeff! Love the Gazelle with the Lynx lifting behind it, and the composition of the head-on Sea King and first B212 shot are excellent.

I like the first shot - I tend to bin any shots with vehicles etc moving through the shot during slow exposure, but your shot really makes a feature of it.

Fantastic shots/scans.

Is this taken at one of Phil's early events?

Re: Another Mosquito just about ready to fly.

I'm sure I read somewhere that AvSpecs is due to come to the UK and fly, then carry onto America next year? This quote from Janie on the Flyer Forum indicates that probably won't be happening: The rumours were absolutely true for a while, but no more. Originally it was hoped that the aircraft would...

2200 tonight (03/10/12) on Quest is "Sinking of an Aircraft Carrier" - about scuttling the USS Oriskany to create an artificial reef. As a Korean and Vietnam veteran there may be some interesting vintage footage.

It's been a long time since I've been to Southend, but clearly you can get closer than I remember. Good to see that the recent terminal and security changes haven't limited access too much either.

Mighty Planes TV programme 2100 25/09/12 on Quest

UK TV channel Quest have a new series starting tonight at 2100:

http://www.questtv.co.uk/shows/mighty-planes

Looks as though there could be some good footage (especially of the Martin Mars!), but references to "planes" and "aircrafts" worries me.
