Re: Photobucket v Flickr - a test

To post photos on here do you have to use PB or flickr or can it be any such site.
Can anybody recommend any others?
From what I read here I'm not sure I want to use either.

Re: RAF Northolt Night shoot

I attended my first Northolt Nightshoot last year and was reasonably pleased with my results. Although I am not a novice photographer it was the first such event for me and I got on ok. There will be plenty of people there and I would be surprised if no-one would offer you advice if you asked, I kno...

New Northolt Gate Guardian

Meant to say on Thursday on my way home from work I saw a Hurricane being lifted from a lorry by the new main gate site. I've heard it may have come from Biggin Hill ? Although I seem to remember also hearing or reading somewhere that there was to be a dedication ceremony for one of the gate guards ...

Re: Spitfire and Hurricane at Northolt

in a word....no The lady on the gate was very nice but unless i was a member or a guest of same i could not go in. Bit of a shame as it was my first time there and I had driven from the War Memorial specifically. I drove down the road a bit and found somewhere to stand and watch and spent a pleasant...

Re: Advice and opinions please

Hi Guys, Thanks for your replies....those images are really good Agg, help to reassure me about my choice of lens when I upgrade. If I could ask another question, I tend to use shutter priority when photographing aircraft, does this jeopardise the 'sweet spot' when it comes to aperture, what sort of...

Advice and opinions please

Hello all, I have promised myself an upgrade in the next few months from my old 350d and associated lenses. I have narrowed the choice down to the 50d or 550d, final decision yet to be taken especially as the 60d is now about! Unfortunately my trusty sigma 70-300 has finally given up so I am upgradi...

Re: BBMF 4 aircraft formation flight 20th august

Spitfire and Hurricane arrived at Northolt at about 18:15 and flew a great display dispite low cloud. Thoroughly enjoyed by all assembled (50 or 60 + if not more) who had waited patiently. Thankyou BBMF Shame they couldn't stop as planned but maybe with the changes we may see them again tomorrow????

Re: BBMF 4 aircraft formation flight 20th august

Should only be 3 aircraft today - 2 Spitfires (P7350 and AB910) and a Hurricane (LF363) - as the Vacher one has gone tech. As a fellow Ruisliper who is at work do you know which end they are using? From here at work at LHR it sounds like we are using 27R which would imply 25 at NHT? From the BBMF s...

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think you may be confused with the sunset display every Battle of Britain day which is the 15th September.
Hope this helps,
