Re: RIAT from Rhymes... CLOSED

It seems the rude and provocative staff member finaly read my first post properly and realised that there was no need for his unprovoked rudeness branding me and saying i cant be arsed to pay, not once did i say i cant be arsed!!! I thought staff on this site were here to help clearly did not read ...

Re: Flying Legends 2016

Blimey indeed. I'm surprised this thread hasn't blown up with the news yet.

So is it just the heritage flight or a full display from the Raptor too?

Well, got nothing but a solo Hawk and the faint sound of a Herc in the distance at Southwold. Better get back to watch it on telly!

Re: Queens birthday flypast 2016

Thanks for the info

I did go last year and they pretty much flew right over the pier, so it seems where to view them from is a bit hit and miss.

Re: American Air Show 28-29 May

It's often the case though that the smaller events make you feel like you've got more bang for your buck. I don't think you can compare Duxfords shows to a club meet at snetterton. To BSB/BTCC; yes. For the past few years at BSB at Snet I've thought why do I bother? It's double the price to club mee...

Re: flixton museum

I go often and it's a fantastic little museum. Lots crammed in there but well laid out with some excellent information pieces. Look out for their open days with live bands etc and you quite often get a lovely fly past from the BBMF too. Went a couple of weeks a go and we had the Spitfire and Hurrica...

That's another good point. The warbirds were so slow. Bring back the Yak-3 from last year. The best Warbird display I've ever seen. It looked and sounded magnificent.

Re: American Air Show 28-29 May

Well I'm glad someone else said it. Count me in as another who found the taxying aircraft and power ups the best part of the show. The Mustangs in particular I can't say anything stood out for me display wise yesterday. I enjoyed the French, although I think that was just down to them being on first...

Re: Grange Rd Duxford fences and closure notice - pics attac

Sometimes I look at the lineups and feel a little disappointed with them, but that soon goes out the window once I'm there. The uniqueness of the formations and scenarios Duxford do always makes it worth going. It's unfortunate to not be able to go into the fields this time. I'm not a photographer a...

I will gladly take my chances in any field I can take. And of course you would let your family know that it was your decision to take a chance in a field so they don't go around suing every one in sight should something happen to you?. Brian If we were in North America, I would say that's a fair po...

Well the three ship tail chase at the VE Day show was one of my highlights of the year. At least from where I was standing Anyone know what happened to the Apache and Chinook? Both have disappeared... Although it's been a good while since the list has been updated so hoping for a juicy final update....

In all seriousness nothing's been confirmed yet. We live in hope though. If there are any it will just be a fly past.

^Thank you! That is exactly what I meant. It's an obvious choice FOR ME and was simply a suggestion, not a demand as some of you like to claim, because of past events which I stated in a previous post. Never said it was easy for Duxford to sort out!! And Brizewatcher, out of my whole post, you decid...

I'm just amazed my comments have warranted these responses. You've all kind of created a storm in a tea cup situation. It's just basically a slagging off match with the main theme being "I'm a bigger enthusiast than you because my opinion counts and yours doesn't" etc etc. I'm not sure wha...

Re: American Air Show 28-29 May

So you're saying with regards to fly pasts and who's allowed to fly with who, it has to be an official organisation like the BBMF/Heritage flight if there are modern, serving jets involved? Pretty sure we've had F-15's in the past fly with civilian owned Mustangs? Legends 2007/8 possibly? Or were th...

Re: American Air Show 28-29 May

Yes, anything like that would be a much welcomed addition by me. They got the F-15's to do one for the BOB show so I can't see why not this year. Maybe 2 x F-15's and the 2 Mustangs? Would be pretty cool.

Is there any particular reason we don't get any evening shows in the UK? Seems a shame when they look so damn spectacular.

I think the main problem here is you've taken my comments much too seriously. Wasn't bashing Duxford at all really was I? All I'm saying is that for me, when I first saw they'd called the show "The American Air Show", my initial thoughts were I hoped they'd got something a bit special line...

Still waiting for a stand out US display that makes the show worthy of its name. Would be lovely to have that F-15 back So let me get this straight. For you, a show being worthy of its theme has nothing to do with the majority of aircraft flying being relevant to the theme, but one display that jus...

Re: Duxford September Airshow 2016- 10th and 11th September

Typhoon is down for both days of the May show. Not ever known it to be at both. But as the theme is fighter aircraft it'd be crazy not to have it. Be interesting to see what other modern stuff they can get. Belgian F16?

Edit - just seen on the schedule it's down for the Southport show both days....
