Help! Red Arrows Gnats with 'RAF' lettering under the wings?

Somewhere in my dim and distant mind I can recall seeing a picture of this (Big white letters) - can anyone confirm, and also which season this was (Was it early in their life?)?

Re: Is a Typhoon display likely this year?

m he Royal Air Force Typhoon Display Team 2012 will be based at RAF Leuchars in Scotland with the pilot and ground support team being provided by Number 6 Squadron in addition to their Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) mission. Typhoon’s deployment in support of the UN mission in Libya last year meant that...

One would imagine that the co-ordinates of all the main Argentine Air Force bases are already stored for use in the RN's Tomahawks.

Yep all very fair points, but comment still stands that if you're doing that a Hawk with an Aden cannon and a couple of Sidewinders could do the job just as well and for less cost Which is fine, so long as the weather is fine and there are no clouds in the sky. The minute you get overcast rainy wea...

All three are Bv138s, at a guess I'd say the first and second are the same aircraft, taken by turning the camera around.

Hee hee - I've only seen two of them so far!

I wonder if ZJ785 will have an enhanced avionics/DASS fit, and we'll see the other 4 rotated through Eurocopter to have their systems upgraded now.

UK Serials reporting 5th AS365 for the MOD

G-CFFW becoming ZJ785 (Wonder where ZJ784 went....)

Gearing up for the Olympics?

G-CFFW has been around for a while, reported in 2008, but seems a bit camera shy!

Re: "New" RAF BAe-146's

Sounds like a reasonable idea to me. As long as the vendor doesn't see that is the UK govt. buying and increase the price. They appear to be looking for the QC version which IIRC is a bit rarer than the usual 146-200. . TNT have two 146-100 QCs they want to sell. The UK Govt needs two -100 QCs, but...

So if they are 'borrowed' they will be operated by British 'operators'. Mmm, Little Birds in British markings based on HMS Ocean......

Not putting all their eggs in one basket - like with the original F3/F-15 mix.

They weren't going to get F-22s, so what else were they left with?

One of the other ex-8 Flight A109s is apparently at Middle Wallop, awaiting approval of Director of Special Forces to be allowed to go on display. Not strictly related to the original question (Now they have been idnetified!) The RAF do still operate two A109Es as part of 32 Squadron (down from thre...

Re: Future Hercules Variants Unveiled

Interesting undercarraige fairning on the NG drawing - I wonde rif this is the 'fatter' Albert that LM have been threatening for a few years now (with a wider fuselage to fit all the things that won't go into a C-130 but will fit, say, an A400M)
