RAF Northolt Night Shoot XXIX: 05Oct23

My 28th Northolt Night Shoot, I only missed the one in March because of a train strike. Liked the new horseshoe layout as there appeared to be more room and everybody seemed to be spread out more. There were more angles to photograph than when they were parked in a straight line, and it wasn’t quite...

Anyone know when flying starts/finishes?
As it's basically a Flying Day, Museum opens at 10am and FAQ's say the flying starts at 2pm so probably finish 4/4.30pm

The Tempest will need umpteen hours of air tests before the man from the CAA signs it off for use.
Would they not be allowed to put it on static on the flightline (should they want to)?
Nothing stopping it going on static hopefully crowd side.

I don't think it's about the aircraft being too close, it's more people not bringing the right kit.

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XXIX Thursday 5th October 2023

The line in front of the hangar was slightly too close to the front of the hangars which saw photographers lined back against the hangar doors whilst taking images, this needed to fit the aircraft in (Typhoon especially), The line is where it's always been, the problem are the 'Hangar Huggers' who ...

My camera did have a bit of an issue focussing on the Apaches but they exposed nicely.
I thought I was going to have to go manual focusing on the Apache's but autofocus had no problem. I had focus area on centre spot.

All of the tall lighting towers south side have had their lights replaced with LEDs since the March event. We were informed that the new lights illuminate much further out across the ASP. Kudos also to the Canadians for their continued support, that’s three nightshoots running now that they’ve sent a C-130 down from Scotland for the event. No.1 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, flew from RAF Northolt during the Battle of Britain from August to October 1940, so there is a link for ...

From Google
Google Photos is unsuitable for providing a simple link for a forum, also because GP is basically private and semi-private sharing within family and friends.
You should use Flickr or Instagram for your "public affairs".

Is it just the actual Tank Bank that's closed - is the crowdline still accessible at that end?

Formation definition: two or more aircraft traveling and manoeuvring together in a disciplined, synchronised, predetermined manner.
Remember the Canadian Lancaster flying in formation with the BBMF Lancaster, That was in a disciplined, synchronised, predetermined manner.
