Re: 1/48 Italeri Mirage 2000D WIP.. Almost finished

Looking good. Sorry I have been so quiet lately. Work is busy and not getting much time in the shed.

Love this scheme though and should look great once it is finished.

Re: Stand for Airfix Vulcan

As an alternative option, I have one for a tamiya 1/32 spitfire you are welcome to use if you cover the postage. I can sort some photos out later if you wish. If you want to go down the route of the photo I would suggest looking into clear acrylic rods. They will do the trick. Edit - see the photo b...

Re: First time posting here...(Pic heavy!)

If you take a pin and lightly prick the surface of the decal.
Next take the decal fix and just brush it over the surface. The decal fix should flood the decal behind and once dried will reduce or get rid of the silvering.

@WG655. Just taking your point up, could the members here help you improve by giving a "how2" example to a specific problem? By that I don't mean giving a link to YouTube or Flory models. I am talking about our/own representation of how we would do it? Happy to do this if you like and I am...

Re: First time posting here...(Pic heavy!)

Some nice builds there JJC. I did see some silvering on some decals which sometimes occurs. A nice gloss coast of failing that decal softener will allocate that issue.

Look forward to seeing some of your other builds soon.

Re: Modelling Forum Boost

good to see the thread active on this subject. I am up for a GB but I am not sure if 1/144 is the way forward but if that is the consensus I would be happy to participate. I did think that a "back to basics" GB would be quite good. By that I mean going back to a starter set an using what i...

It is the first time I have tried using clear acrylic rod to mount the aircraft on and I have to say I am impressed! Derek. Yes this is the 32 scale Fisher conversion. Do you know what photo it was? As far as I can remember there was a few internal cockpit photos and a couple of side profile drawings. Was this the Fisher conversion James? One of my photos was going to be used in the packaging or reference material...

1/32 Scale Hunter T8M - Progress so far

Sorry there is/was no WIP for this one to date. I have had the kit for a number of years and after the Phantom was built for AMW, I decided to have a bit of a break and build something for me. The conversion itself seemed pretty daunting but after dry fitting, sanding, more dry fitting and even more...

Re: Italeri 1/32 F-86 Sabre

Geoff, thanks for the kind comment - the finish is relatively simple with the right materials. I fond Gunze products really good especially through the airbrush and masking with blu-tack. The only major issue with the paint was the use of the xtracrylix PRU Blue which kept peeling off when I masked ...

Italeri 1/32 F-86 Sabre

Another one finished this year, I seem to be picking up speed now! Finished in camouflage rather than the USAF NMF schemes that seem to be popular. https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5470/17583739818_3c41623895_b.jpg 1/32 Scale Italeri (Kinetic) F-86 Sabre by James Vaitkevicius , on Flickr https://c2.sta...
