Thanks once renewals have been sorted they will release the remaining seats to the general public. they will be for sale on the website. it is a membership of sorts whereby ...

i'd take that painted NATO E-3 and something like a C-5. i know its not trendy, but the amount of tankers and heavies on the ground this year really added something for me The painted NATO E-3 has been repainted a couple of months ago and due for retirement even that's a shame. in that case i'll ta...

After nearly four years we have news regarding Eurofighter DA4,ZH590 – however it’s not what we have worked long and hard for – a statement can be found in here! http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/DA4_Statement_2023 sad news. was looking forward to it going there. that typhoon deserves to be on display...

Re: Duxford flying finale
in that event, I'm happy to amend my comments. I am always willing to hold my hands up when i am wrong. Last year was my first Duxford airshow, (and from what I've seen advertised this year, probably my last). from what i saw, it was idiots creating many queues to try and push in..if there was an i...

Re: Duxford flying finale
Last year it was chaos leaving the North. Hope IWM learn the lesson for this year!!! Chaos is an understatment hours to get out. to be fair, last years chaos couldn't be blamed on the event organisers.it was purely down to the countless selfish individuals jumping the queue not prepared to wait lik...

Re: FRIAT 2024
I am waiting for the link which should allow me to choose/change seat and pay. My understanding is that this has to be completed by the end of January. I too had forgotten the deadline for the fee to change. It was stated that the system will calculate any discount one is entitled to. also waiting ...

Re: Duxford dates 2023
Considering The list has not been updated for sometime is that an indication of nothing else being added. Also how long are the flying finales? 2021 i believe was at least 3 hours? think the last one was about 2 and a half hours maybe? most of these will be formations so i don't see it being much l...

Re: FRIAT 2024
Extending the payment deadline does make sense, although holding seats until January will make it more difficult for those that might want to switch seats. it is a wise decision from them, but given there were a ton of empty seats last year i suspect there will be enough unallocated seats anyway th...

Re: Duxford dates 2023
But I would expect more of a line-up over the coming weeks for the extra price they are charging over a normal flying day. That's the crux of it for me. if you are wanting people (especially members) to part with 30+ quid they need to offer a bit more. The only thing that draws me to it is the Blen...

Participation has been published for the October day: https://www.iwm.org.uk/airshows/events/duxford-flying-finale I complimented some of the airshow team on their achievements last year - particularly the Czech helicopters and Swiss team and they excitedly told me to expect a good year in 2023 wit...

Re: Little Gransden 27/08/23
I haven't been to a non-Duxford/Old Warden show since before Covid so I thought I'd give Little Gransden a go and I'm pleased I did. The highlights were the Jet Pitts and the Lockheed Electra, very closely followed by the R/C models of the Hawk and SU-30. The latter did a spin off the top of a clim...

Re: FRIAT 2024

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
The other issue is how would they know when all the FRIAT and advance ticket holders were in? And as I queried before are you not allowed to move between ends during the day? So how do they take that into account? They scan tickets and passes to get in, and that software is presumably intelligent e...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
I don't like being deliberately lied to to extort money.... This isn't unique to this event. It's a recognised method to add a sense or urgency. Bang on. it's no different to any other big event. every festival is selling tickets as soon as the last one has ended despite no lineup being announced. ...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2023 - 16th & 17th September
Grandstand seating is good, as it is quite crowd centre. I've been in it twice, and will be again this year. It used to be first come, first served. But now you choose seat on booking. I did prefer the members area though. i did consider getting a grandstand seat this year. maybe ill upgrade my tic...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
I might be wrong, but didn't Ben Dunnell say over the weekend that the RAF Typhoon display was cut short? it did certainly feel shorter compared to what i saw at Cosford I know the one day (I think it was on the Sunday) it had to hold on the runway due to traffic into going into Brize, so it probab...

Re: FRIAT 2024
FRIAT could introduce Guard Towers with snipers armed with tranquiliser darts to suppress unwarranted movements, but I think the towers may themselves interfere with the perfect shot of the Hangars & Corporate logo's? Probably best to avoid the whole experience on health grounds alone. :...
