airspirit 2024 Emmen
After 2004 and 2014, the swiss seem to have dropped Payerne as their jubilee airshow base. On 30 and 31 of august a show will be held at Emmen. Also the name Air looks dropped, as it is announced as airspirit 2024. For those thinking of going: this is the week before airpower, so it might be somethi...

2 pilots fired. But wasn't it mentioned at the earlier thread about this that those two were the people that spoke up to adress the sexual misbehaviour at the team?

Re: Duxford Dates 2024
Sadly the last time this gathering occurred in 2019 it was a gold-plated farce from start to finish. Duxford pretty much failed to deliver on any of the proposed/promised attractions & the French leg was worse. The arrival in France of a 'few of the Daks' from England was miserably late, those ...

Re: 2024 tickets - Swindon shuttle bus?
We've booked this for the Saturday, hopefully it goes smoothly. Does anyone know where they let you off and if it is in a convenient place? In the morning they let you off near the yellow entrance, but you have to do a little walk towards the entarnce itself. But that is lots shorter than the walk ...

Rumours go the RNLAFs 298 squadron is attending RIAT23 with a CH47F MYII CAAS on static display together with an 860th NH90, the NH90 is a regular at RIAT but if the CH47F goes trough it would be a first type visit Not sure what the MYII CAAS bit is (didn't Holly Valance put that in her big hit?) b...

Does anyone know which month/week announcements begin? I remember it being in january some years right? end of jan/beginning of feb isn't it? Normally that is when the self confirmations begin (swiss air force mostly as the first one). DBH then starts a few weeks after that, or there must be a real...

Now cancelled. Reasons given: 1 Costs have risen out of hands for the event. Allthough the main sponsor had a positive attitude to pump up more money, the other sponsors didn't. If entrance prices would have to go up, people would gather outside the airfield. TBH, this was already an issue quoted af...

the USAF's $28 million project to renovate the North East Loop is now complete, replacing nearly 1.5km of taxiways and 11 ramps, along with installing a new drainage system and LED airfield ground lighting. Cheers, Peter As LED is seen as environmental friendly (at least for now) and the time neede...

Going by the length of the program and the time passed between posting and reaction, I presume you haven't watched it? The Germans have a long standing tradition to take an event in their history and have a night on their television in which they dig into the subject. They call it Thema Abend. Havin...

Providing evidence to the UK Defence Committee on 2 November, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said that this was “still not a staggering amount” of pilots, coming 24 hours after he had erroneously stated in a House of Lords evidence session on 1 November that the UK had fewer pilots qualified on the ...

Tonight in German Television (ARD) two programs about the Frecce crash at Ramstein, starting at 19.15 and 20.45 British time. For those that can't wait, one is already online here for the next about three months, the second looks to be geo-blocked, so should be watched real-time, if you can view thi...

Maybe it can help if you look if you have a display at the end of one film and the same display at the start of another one? Then at least the films are in consequent order. Then, do you still have the negatives of the film? All shots must be numbered at those. Good luck, I have to do the same with ...

which other military bases are a) going to be open on a weekend, and b) able to handle large commercial aircraft with requirements for air-stairs, etc.? Fairford? I mean, can you imagine an Aviat Husky with floats in the RIAT flying programme? There would be uproar! If they would run a naval theme I wouldn't be surprised if DBH books that same aircraft. And was it a solo display, or were there other up at the same time (during not such a long slot)? It is a ...

Things that Zeltweg does better: backdrop, It takes hundreds or thousands of years to have it grown like it is now. Nothing a show can do about it (except moving to another venue. What airfield in the UK has something like that already?) And although the mountains in the back are beautiful it is al...

Which leads to the question of what's rubbish. Banging on about Elvington long after Elvington themselves issued a statement saying that the aircraft isn't going there for starters. Pointing out that a Vulcan has been disassembled in the past without taking into account the wildly different circums...
