Re: A memorial for airshow pilots..

Silly idea. I'm a display pilot and I just fly an aeroplane at airshows. Nothing special. There's far more deserving people out there who deserve recognition. PS. I did say I'd never contribute to this forum again after all the bolleaux that was written after this year's Legends, but I forgot. Sorry

Maybe the 3 P51s that live within 60 miles don't want to go? It's not compulsory to go to Legends

Re: Legends wasn't broken - please don't fix it

You whingers should stand back and realise how all this sounds to those who DO enjoy air displays for what they are. Despite what the majority on here might think, air displays are not put on for the benefit of photographers. It sounds like most of the star whingers never even paid and were in 'the ...

Re: The People's Mosquito

A Mosquito would only use around 300 Litres an hour Sorry to be picky, but a P-51D Mustang uses 60 US gal/Hr at best economic cruise... 120 US Gal/Hr doing a display.. Thats 227 litres/Hr and 454 litres/Hr respectively. If this Mosquito is only using 300 litres/Hr, then can we assume it will fly ar...

is that how it's going to stay ?

I doubt it. It's hardly a legal presentation...... :wall:

(edited to say that according to G-INFO, they appear to have an Exemption from the requirement to display registration marks...)

I never realised this was a professional photographers forum.....We can't all be perfect Dano... It's a great picture, nitpicking about the fine details makes you seem a little bit, how shall I say, petty and it's becoming a bit boring.

Re: Hurribomber gear-up landing at North Weald AAIB report

3 minutes is what the regulations require for a Licensed aerodrome. North Weald is Unlicensed, and therefore does not require fire cover to operate. To put it into persepctive, if you live in the countryside in a 'D Risk' area, there legal requirment is for one fire appliance to arrive within 20 min...

Orion has got a point about the religious bit... I wonder how many would express a negative view if it was something to do with Islam?

Anyway, the show is brilliant; I can't stand religion either, so for me its a good time to go to the loo or go have another burger. :cuppa:

"Spitfires are the ultimate aircraft, a British icon - who wouldn't want to say they'd helped build one?" They're not Spitfires. They are amateur built 'replicas' which vaguely look like a Spitfire, and sound even less like one. A bit like the homebuilt that vaguely looks like a P-51 Must...

The SAS operated Agusta 109 ZE411, not sure if they still do but that was blue. It's a bit :ninja: anonymous, got no markings on it and looks like a civvie colour scheme. Pics all over the net if you google it.

Re: P51 Mustangs

Ah, the old old urban myth.......It's not the supercharger. The engine generally has the same design of supercharger as certain Spitfires, and you never hear them whistling. In fact, I'd be quite concerned if it was the supercharger! As for the exhaust, it's a non starter... It is in fact the gun po...
