Re: RIAT 2015

Sadly not, Singapore Hercs look great, but Singapore have never attended. Always thought the best chance were the A-4s at Cazaux, obviously we still have that chance with the M346s, but they are a poor substitute for those cracking camo Scooters. The RSAF are pretty secretive about their Hercs, and...

Re: RIAT 2015

Just seen that the Met Office have weather reports out up until the last arrivals day. I know we're still a week off, but they suggest sunny intervals and no rain. How accurate they are remains to be seen, but it does at least give me some hope... Welcome to England! This morning the MET office sai...

Re: RIAT 2015

Two more questions for the RIAT regulars: I decided with such a good static display I will do P&V on one day. Be nice to see some of the rehearsals too. So... will I see some rehearsals if I go on Thursday? (my choice is Thursday or Monday. Any preference?) And should I do P&V East or West? ...

Re: RIAT 2015

What about Australia? Have they come to RIAT yet? They do quite a few displays and have some interesting types for a potential static display. Yes, many times in the past. OK, didn't know that for certain, but I guessed they might have done. Anyway, while I was typing my post, Tom explained the new...

Re: RIAT 2015

I think the new nation might still be a new nation - it's not as if DBH don't know the difference between an air arm and a nation is it and it was them that Tweeted it, so fingers crossed. But which nation might it possibly be anyway? Of those still on the invited list have any never attended and m...

No, "First Japanese Navy pilots to fly in UK airspace." KC-767 was JASDF, not Navy.

Edit - you've all beaten me to it!

Re: RIAT 2015

If you sit on the crowdline all day, you should have the energy to walk the entire static in the evening after the show, with the added bonus of the car parks being empty buy the time you get to them! Sounds like a plan! I'm only going on Sunday, but even if the flying display ends, say, half an ho...

Re: RIAT 2015

The static is approx 2 miles long. My FRIAT trick on a Sunday is to park in Red, get the bus to Green first thing. Walk green and blue up to the friat stand. Then when the flying has finished, walk red back to the car. Andy Thanks Andy. I'm not FRIAT but I'll probably watch from a similar area as I...

Re: RIAT 2015

Could someone who's done RIAT before tell me how long it would take to walk right from one end to the other end of the static park? I'm thinking of arriving when the gates open and walking all the way down the static park before the flying display to find out where things are, and then re-visiting t...

I still can't believe that anyone can turn their nose up at this formation, previously viewed or otherwise! Anyway, wonder what Saturdays will be. Re: RIAT 2015

I'm glad I'm going on Sunday, I picked one day back in April and for me that has become the best one. Looks like a pretty good lineup to me. For all the moaners, just try living in the Americas, Asia or Western Australia, most years you'd have to fly for 5 hours just to get to a single airshow with ...

Feeling pretty good about all this - with Zeus just confirmed for Friday and the MiG confirmed too, it looks as if both aircraft will join us at RIAT!

Just arrived in the UK and I am beyond excited!

Long trip in a Metro or King Air

They have a single Cessna 402. And while I'd appreciate the effort, I can think of greater coups for RIAT than that.

I'm afraid I've got to agree, it is a bit "meh" for me, but that's only a personal thing as I've seen some nice F-5 flypasts at events in the last few weeks. In this case, I've been a bit spoiled.

Formation Dysons..........

Exactly. But you have to admire the skill of the pilots, being able to maintain tight formation while flying loops and quarter-clovers in a plane like the C-101
