Duxford Wednesday 14th April:

Although hangar access is still a few weeks away, there is plenty going on at Duxford.
Aerial Collective Spitfire rides have started:

Image

Some hangar doors have been opened to allow views of resident aircraft, and other warbirds have been moved out into the sunshine to be admired (Many thanks to TFC and Comanche Warbirds):

Duxford Saturday 17th April:

Another busy day at Duxford, with two Spitfires and a P-51D earning their living.
A late visitor was the Grace Spitfire ML407, looking great in the sunshine after a winter re-work and re-paint:

Duxford Friday 23rd April:

Today saw 5 of the Duxford fleet out in the sunshine sporting their desert camouflage. Firstly, the temporary JG27 scheme carried by Buchon G-AWHK 'Yellow 10':

Many thanks are due to TFC, who brought their wonderful Fiat CR42 out for display.
A chance to compare colours with the P-40F. Very welcome indeed (Beaufighter next ?)

Also in desert camo, Spitfire JG891 and 'Wacky Wabbit'

Re 'Wacky Rabbit,
I know there was 4FTS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._4_Fly ... School_RAF) in Egypt and I think there were Harvards attached to it. But was AJ841 based there and was there a real 'Wacky Rabbit'? Also were 4FTS aeroplanes painted with Cerulean Blue undersurfaces or yellow?

From the 'Wacky Wabbit' web site
Harvard AJ841 – AJ 841 does have a connection with Duxford as she saw service with 154 Squadron. Originally 154 Squadron were based just to the West of RAF Duxford at RAF Fowlmere before they were deployed to the Middle East in 1942. Record cards for 154 Squadron show the squadron Harvard being flown by flying officer DC Dunn from Minnigh (Syria) to Ramat David (Palestine) on the 12th February 1944.
Lot more info on web site - https://www.t6harvard.com/uk-harvards/a ... ky-wabbit/

Thanks for that, interesting. It's clear then G-BJST is not the real AJ841. The webpage you give above is full of info which I'm still trying to absorb!

Thanks

Think EP120 came over St.Ives and did a few spirited aerobatics before heading on south...
