Stoneykirk Aviation Museum

Post by wallace »

Where?
Tucked away to the south of Stranraer is this wee aviation museum.
The museum has restricted opening times, so it's well worth checking the web site for times and how to get there.

Yesterday's B-Log
I took a major daftie and went for a run on the Beemer, marking up something like 350 miles in 12 hours, stopping off at Stoneykirk, Dumfries and Carlisle.
Dumfries was closed, silly me for not checking, I just assumed.

Nice to see a few Cockpit-Fest winners on display at Stoneykirk.

I’m ashamed to say I’d never heard of this museum- all the cockpits look immaculate!

Me too. Just went to their site and I might try and do it in August. It's a long drive, but if the weather stays fine it will be a nice run out. Like you say the Dumfries Museum isn't open on Sundays, so no double header possible.
"Nice pics mate" comments only! No criticism please.

Equipment: Camera, Lens, Goretex Y fronts.

I was disappointed that DGAM wasn't open, things may change.
It was a three hour drive for me, Stranraer being at the ends of the earth for us both.
