#12 began as a wish from Jan that photographers should try to get good photos from the ground when he made simulated bombings with his P-51 on airshows. That proved not to be easy and the results weren't very convincing due to bad timing, wrong angle, distance etc. So we came up with this idea instead. The photo is taken from the back of an An-28 flying low over Västerås airfield. The guy on the ground who was responsible for the "bombing" was lying under a flame suit right in line with us so the timing would be as good as possible. We made a dry fly-by first to see that our distance from each other and the altitude was ok.
The explosion itself was quite intense. I can see from my series of photos how the Invader (the photo after this one) moves from the heat wave, and the second later how all my photos are blurry from us shaking. Our pilot even said he could feel the heat in the cockpit of our photoship *
