Who am I
Who am I
I am currently converting my slides to a digital format, and I came across these images of an airframe, I took these pictures in the early part of 1976 on the day the airframe was handed to a preservation group. I thought it would be good idea to have a little competition in guessing the aircraft, the section you need to scrutinize is the section behind the seat, disregard the tail wheel as this would have been a skid assembly. This aircraft was last operational in 1940 and produced by a now defunct manufacturer. I'll give more clues to morrow.
To spice things up I'll gift my two tickets for Sundays RIAT to the first person to correctly identify the airframe, can I ask that there be one answer per post and not a scatter gun approach to this.
Happy Hunting, Mick

A smallish homebuild not quite as big as a Tiger Moth, but that's as much as I can think of...

Re: Who am I
The undercarriage ( and writing) looks very British... DeHavilland'esque but my gut feeling is something American. Having scoured Wikipedia my best guess is an early Curtiss. F6 Hawk?
