Kiev's State Aviation Museum

Post by Berlingo »

Hello,

Last March, I spent one week in Ukraine, I visited Lviv, the Chernobyl exclusion zone and Kiev, here at the Zhuliany airport there is the State Aviation Museum.
That's a great museum, with an exhibition 100% outside and full of Soviet built fighters, bombers, transports...

The pictures...

What a great collection of aircraft in very good order.

I see Tu22M3 no57 still has its RIAT stickers proudly showing from its visit in 1998 and good to see all Backfire variants preserved, (Vulcan and Victor variants together at Cosford would have been nice  ).

Yak-28, MiG-25, Su-15, oh my, looks like a great place to visit.

They're great pics of an amazing collection.

Unfortunate that they're all sitting outside to deteriorate and crumble in the Ukranian climate. Hopefullly they can get some shelter for at least select few pieces.
