Lovely topsides. I note the exhaust pipes have shrouding on them now, a new addition?

Shrouds were paid for, at least in part, by the LAA. Might have worn them as a one-off for yesterday's event?

Believe they are only fitted on special occasions for maintenance reasons.

The shrouds increase fuel consumption a little and they wouldn't last long with the exhaust gases burning away at them. From what I've read and the speaking to Bomber Command veterans the shrouds didn't last very long in service and were constantly being replaced as were the exhaust stubs.

Nice pictures. Was this the last public airing for 'Thumper'?
I'd like to think the City of Lincoln will re-appear from Duxford as another ton up aircraft.

Be good to see her as JB663 'King of the Air' of 106 Sqn. as a family member of mine was a pilot on 106.
