Biggin Hill Spitfires 18/7

Post by farnboroughrob »

This was my dads Birthday present, a hangar tour of the BHHH. Very informative, great guide and we got to see MT818 in its natural environment. Been after than particular aircraft for years, being the original 2 seater G-AIDN and being in the US for many years. Everything is in very tight so photos not that easy plus a couple of aircraft that could not be photographed.

MJ772 being rebuilt following its accident a couple of years ago. Orininally a Irish T9, then converted back to a single seater, and now a 2 seater!

MT818, I must say would love to see it in its original trainer prototype scheme.

I wasn't aware they did these visits. You made a good job of the images within the confines. Thanks for the insight.

They seem very popular at the moment, they are run Wednesday-Saturday summer and Friday-Saturday winter https://bigginhillheritagehangar.co.uk/ ... angar-tour

We are not allowed to share photos of it, but it looked close to flight. Cowling was off but it looked complete to the untrained eye.
