Was that really almost twelve years ago??!!
Seems like only a couple of years ago, must be getting old!
Very nice photos of a much missed aircraft.

Nice to see a picture of Pink Lady, whenever I saw her at Duxford, she had a way of 'talking' that was different to Sally B!

Seem to remember that she was grounded (possibly due to insurance costs?), anyone know of her current status?
...and pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in Space cos there's bugger all down here on Earth!

I was shocked too, seems like only yesterday! Super pix as well, much appreciated.

Pink Lady remains preserved inside at La Ferte Alais.

A fine set of images, Brian. I'm not aware of the status of this aircraft but I would wish that she was returned to the air.
Cheers,

Not up to Brian's standard but only shot on a compact camera - arriving at Duxford after crossing the pond...

It was a shame that Sally B had problems and couldn't fly with Pink Lady and Liberty Belle at the air show.

Didn't think there was anything usable after the fire that gutted Liberty Belle, but seems the plan is to use other bits to return her to the air?...
Underneath my gruff exterior lies an even gruffer interior...

What was the reason behind the 2008 gathering?

Like Archer, saw "Liberty Belle" during a visit to Tom Reilly Aviation in Florida in 2002 under the guise of "Outhouse Mouse"...

They reckon they had more usable left after the fire than what they had started with to do the first restoration to flight....!!

They have pretty much already completed the fuselage structure.

I had completely forgotten that Liberty Belle had come over here for a tour in 2008....and that was the year after I'd flown in '909' out in the USA so I should remember!
Old age.... :unamused:
