Some images taken at the Knights of the Sky exhibition at the Aviation heritage Centre at Omaka. The lighting is difficult for photography in here, with contrasting lighting and different colours making a bit of a mixed salad for photography, so please excuse any aberations.

Really nice images there, thanks for sharing.
This is on the Must Do list if I ever get chance to go to NZ again.

Looks incredible, brilliantly laid out.
Are they all replicas or are there some genuine machines in there?

Only the Caproni is real.
Probably the best exhibit I thought was the cross from Richthofen's Triplane on the wall.
As if it has been snatched from the diorama next to it.
Sadly I could not get a shot of it with the lighting and behind glass.
The WW2 museum next door is going to get a (new) revamp with the John Smith bits and bobs on show such as the Mosquito etc.
the last revamp it got this..
Lockheed Hudson by Andy Heap, on Flickr
Obviously best to time it for the airshow here
That said I think it might be another few years before Poms are let back in!

The Curtis MF flying boat and DH-4 also originals I thought?
The WW2 section is normally closed during (and either side of) the show, as too many of the exhibits (Spitfire, Ryan, Yak-3M, FW-190/n) are flying. The plan during the 2021 show is to display (at that stage minimally restored) parts of the John Smith collection in the space.
Nice photos Andy, the lighting definitely helps to provide a good atmosphere but gives a challenge as you say.
Re: Knights of the Sky exhibition, Omaka, New Zealand
You might be right on the originals Errol - Caproni was the only one I remembered.
Not my photos apart from the Hudson - they are Nuumannns! but agree they are great.
I went a few weeks ago and struggled to take much.

Aside from the Caproni that Andy pointed out, the DH-4 and the Curtiss flying boat are also originals, as Errol mentions. I've put some of the Dangerous Skies images, including the Hudson in the following link:capercaillie wrote: ↑Fri 14 Aug 2020, 3:36 pmLooks incredible, brilliantly laid out.
