R4118 visited RAF Cosford today to mark 80 years (and one day!) since she was delivered to 605 (County Of Warwick) squadron, 605 now being based at Cosford.
The NHS Spitfire also made a pass beforehand, which I did not catch as the approach was behind trees and it was on me before I realised what was happening, thanks to the lorries on the A41 drowning out the wonderful sound of the Merlin!
Just a few shots to record the event:

And not forgetting the home team, who gave me an indication of the approach a few minutes before '4118s arrivalIMG_4761 by aviation anoraks, on Flickr

Marvellous.....
18th August - The Hardest Day.
Reading Alfred Price's book about this day as a teenager, just before the 40th Anniversary in 1980 left an indelible impression about the BofB that had been kick-started by watching the film as a child 10 years earlier.

Very nice.
Glad to see (or perhaps not see) the Invisible Man has decided to try his luck on Tutors.
